Klaus Theweleit wrote this book called Male Fantasies, where he showed that one of the main themes in literature for those who would become Nazis in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s was misogyny and violence against women. The connections between racism, sexual violence, and fascism are strong.

Not surprising. But I wouldn't narrow the scrotes down by political belief, god knows there have been enough "surprises" from them.

Interesting article, though misogyny is an issue on both the right and the left. To be honest I'm more scared of leftist misogyny as it is cloaked and subdued by buzzwords like 'consent' and 'empowerment' and I find that to be more insidious. While the misogynistic stuff discussed in this article is worrying, I think the misogynistic porn the average lefty man watches is probably just as indocrinating as far right chatrooms are. I say this as a lefty myself.

Edit to add: not saying I disagree with the article at all and thank you for sharing OP, I guess I'm quite jaded when it comes to the Guardian though as it touts itself as a lefty liberal newspaper yet has been publishing some very misogynistic, anti-woman articles in recent years.
