So I did a social experiment on Minder (originally was Muslim Tinder). I changed my name to an Arab name (Aaliyah which is a fake name and I got it from Dhoom 3) I put I was from Syria, and put only 1 photo where I photoshopped myself with green eyes. Same age though.
I had a simple bio. I swiped right on everyone within a 50 miles radius.
2 days. 374 matches. 176 messages. Some of the messages are what you see above. 👆
6 messages were literally just about my "green eyes". 3 messages were Arab men talking to me in Arabic.
In comparison to when I had my normal profile (good amount of photos and well written bio) and I put my normal south asian origin (Bangladesh), the messages were in general more respectful and polite??? Was it because of my magical green eyes or that the men thought I was Arab? 😒😑
Also fun fact: Had some random guy who Ive matched with before recognize me and said I am insecure and abusive lol. Narcs everywhere 🤦♀️

I totally feel this. I've on and off (more off) done OLD for years. I often only last a couple days because I'm either bombarded with low quality messages and/or a guy sends me a message that's just straight up an insult as a first message (not sure what the point of that is)!? I find it so draining, stressful and anxiety inducing I usually delete after a couple days. I met my last ex LVM "situationship" on OLD. I've never met any quality men on OLD. Everytime I go on there I just feel this complete sense of hopelessness and despair, so I doubt I'll do it again. Though I would like to test out my new FDS knowledge on it just for laughs.
