No, this is about letting yourself feel all of the icky emotions on their full performance; allowing the sadness, the pain, the shame, the anger, the resentment, the guilt, the nostalgia, the regret engulf you wholly.

This is about letting yourself cry all the tears you have to offer, listen to all the sad songs you need to, lay on the floor the entire day when you don't have the energy to move, for as long as you want. And then, when you've done all that, you stand up, wash your face, put on something cute, and move on.

Me dealing with law school readings right now😩. No, but seriously, this is something I’m getting much more comfortable with in all facets of my life. When I left my ex a few months ago, I didn’t think I’d feel like me again for a long time… but already, i do and find myself finding new ways I love myself daily. Turns out, it’s easier without him putting me down. He made me miserable so many days… but change can be so hard and scary. Leaving him was terrifying. Especially as someone who grew up in a household where that sort of chaos was normalized. He felt comfortable. This is so scattered, but my point is for anyone reading, you will get over it. You will rise from the dust stronger, learn to love yourself harder and learn to cut off bullshit behavior more quickly. I believe in you.
