When I was in my early 20’s I used to think “well I guess some people are just lazy but not everyone’s like this”. As I’ve gotten older I noticed men around me have stayed the same.

Some of them can talk about how they do all the cleaning, which led me to think “oh great it’s nice to not date little boys anymore” then reality hits me like a brick because it’s all talk.

Their idea of wiping the counter is wiping the counter then leaving the cloth dirty.

Their idea of doing the garden is mowing the lawn but leave all the rubbish and things that need to be picked up as is.

Everything is half assed, would they do this in their day job? Hell no. That’s a real job with real consequences.

I used to do the typical female thing and just do it all myself without being asked. Nowadays I make sure I do my part only and mentally prepare to be gaslighted.

I would love to be able to afford to live alone and die alone with my cats.
