Every time I've done this they want it on their terms. Even with all the emotions removed from it, they simply aren't available when you want them to be. Then what? You get a text at 2am and go running because they're finally available? Then they just dissapear one day or get a gf. Its kind of hard to have a fb who is never available to F. I have never had one available when I'm out , but always asking me when they are. It's a power struggle. To them what makes it fair, is that they call the shots. Its infuriating. Even without emotion is not possible because of the Male ego..... and if he is some how right there every time you want it he probably has feelings for you. The only time a fb situation has worked for me at all is when it was once or twice and then we promised never again, and became strictly platonic, and I had no romantic feelings. Its just crappy all around. Everyone gets hurt. Ir my case, is just never available and then expecting me to be at inconvenient times.

In my opinion the FWB terms are whatever gets you the most out of the situation. The moment where you’re doing more for the other person or where you feel as though you’re not getting all the benefits is when you have to cut it off.

This includes having to put up with any entitled attitude or bad behaviour on the other guy. LVM who are FWB get an inflated sense of ego quickly during the FWB situation. Or when you feel like he can hit you up whenever for sex but he doesn’t give you the same back.

You have to be vigilant and not let bad behaviour or one sidedness on his end to go unnoticed because the sex is good. Try not to catch feelings and keep dating / a roster of HVM that you absolutely don’t have sex with.

Remember he’s a WB LVM not a Friend.

Minimally, the terms need to include safe sex, including birth control.

Other than that, make sure the arrangement serves you and be open to re-assessing or ending it if you find you're starting to become invested in a different outcome (relationship).

From my experience, I find it hard to keep casual 'casual', given the actual and emotional risks involved, so I've opted out altogether. If you can do it, power to you. Just make sure you keep yourself healthy.
