I was Inspired by u/harasquietfish6 thread on “what makes you swipe left” I thought it might be beneficial to also discuss the other side of the coin.

For me, I have my OLD swipe game down to a science:

Round 1: I always start with the pics to see if I find the person physically attractive. A lot of guys get eliminated here. 🤷‍♀️

Round 2: Education/occupation: I’m usually looking for a college degree(graduate degree preferred, but a bachelor’s would do) and a white collar job. Bonus point if the job is for what I call a “learned discipline” like computer scientist, engineer, doctor vs something like social worker or a teacher. For me, those are more of a “passion job”. There is nothing wrong with that, I would swipe right if everything else is great. But I want someone who has learned a specific skill/trade that’s also sought after in the job market. I’m trying to feed my future children here! Sorry, not sorry.

Round 3: Age. I like to date guys who are 2 to 5 years older. I will go beyond 5 years and even 3 years younger, as long as everything else is perfect.

Round 4: Kids? “None and want some day” is what I’m looking for, as this matches my situation.

Round 5: What they’re looking for. Hopefully it says “Relationship”. I would entertain “I don’t know”, only because I’ve seen a bunch of horrible advice here on Reddit telling guys it’s safer to say “I don’t know” and that admitting you’re looking for a relationship comes of desperate. I always have the “what you’re looking for” convo by the second date at the latest, but with the “I don’t know” guys, I have the conversation before the first date. A good number of them get eliminated though because they keep up the duality game.

Round 6: Bios and prompt responses. This is more of elimination game. I am mostly looking for normalcy and what I might use as an opener(Bumble). It’s amazing how many horrible bios and prompt responses are out there. It’s staggering the number of guys that make it through all the previous rounds only to be eliminated here.
