So I had the "Do violent video games cause violence" talk with my brother, I'm a firm believer that kids copy what they see they most, it's only human nature.

Even if it's digital, killing someome and decapitating someone for "fun" it's just weird. It's not normal and normal people don't have interests in those things. I remember when my brother took me to a Jurassic park themed game where I had to shoot dinosaurs to win, I cried 10-15 minutes in? Maybe sooner, cause I loved animals and couldn't see them getting killed/scream in pain. Ya know like a normal person does.

He on the other hand kept on parroting how "bUt the Supreme court decided it has no relation!!, Juvenile delinquency rates are dropping while game sales are going UP!!"

"What about domestic violence rates and school shooting rates? These keep on rising everyday"

"Doesn't matter, juvenile delinquency rates are DrOpInG!!"

I gave up after a while. I wouldn't let my kid watch a war documentary with actual deaths and tortures happening, why would I feel any different about a high definition game where my kid would VOLUNTEERIGLY torture and kill someone???

Is it so hard to understand watching extreme violence makes you numb and apathetic?? I personally don't know any gamer who plays violent games to be a functional and empathetic human being, but anyway.

What you girls think? I know most avoid gamers and so do I but I'm wondering why men defend their precious violent games so much? We aren't saying Animal crossing will make you a psycho but a game that wants you to r@pe and dismember your opponents to get a shiny award can.
