I think marrying a very low value NPD man probably made me look like I have terrible taste and judgment, even if he was hiding it extremely well. People might not directly state that opinion, but you know women are blamed for "choosing bad men", even when he ends up killing her and/or the children.

Part of the reason I guard my reputation greatly is because in my pre-FDS ways I was in an abusive relationship with a man twice my age. One of the reasons I was afraid to go extremely public was for my reputation. I kept the relationship hidden because I was ashamed of being judged for being with a much older man. I was hoping he would’ve been one of those rare men HVM, someone who emulated my father, and then when he proved himself to be a HVM, I would feel more comfortably introducing him. Turns out, he was the exact opposite. There is no healthy age gap relationship. If there is, I’ll eat my damn louboutin.

The next man I’ll be introducing publicly if that ever happens is a HVM fiancé my OWN age.

I don't know what I looked like but I do remember friends giving me a sense of pity when I would mention him.

One of my friends dated a complete loser and everyone knew it. While we didn't think less of her we were glaringly aware of her poor self esteem because of it. Not that it was a secret.

But I could see people taking advantage of that.

Now I think I wouldn't associate with someone attached to a lvm.
