Then why do you halfwits "cancel" MRAs time to time without any base in the first place? A great demonstration of the toxicity of menslib towards men, which is, sadly, unsurprising at all. What gets me is the refusal of many men, such as those on menslib, to realise that a lot of feminists are not on their side and never will be - such people are simply sexist against men and cannot be reasoned with.

I think this shows the strength of the 'women-are-wonderful' effect. These people would easily criticise other men, feminist or not, that are hateful, but simply refuse to believe that women could ever be in the wrong. The worst thing is the these ideas are so deeply embedded in their psyches that they never question such believes and go through insane amounts of cognitive dissonance to try and hold on to such beliefs in the face of contradictory evidence. In addition, such ideas are completely opposed to the popular definition of feminism as a believe in equality between men and women. To put it another way, women are people too, and are equally capable of being hateful and committing abuse as men.

So here's a message to all you male feminists out there: get over your benevolent sexism. It's not doing you, women or society at large any favours. It's simply allowing bad people to do bad things unchecked, because you refuse to even believe they could be bad and you always make excuses for them. Stop it.

I’m a woman so I won’t comment on this specifically but I think there is something analogous in hearing people say similar sorts of statements about white people. As a white person when I hear this I have the initial reaction of feeling attacked and thinking that this person is making an unfair blanket statement.

...The reason that it isn’t an unfair blanket statement as I initially felt is that racism is a system - it requires participation from a large swath of society in order to function. So by and large, it is fair to say most white people are trash or racist. Racism couldn’t exist otherwise. And I no longer feel personally attacked because it only attacks me if I am one of the people they are talking about.

Being white doesn't disadvantage me,it is almost always either an advantage or neutral. Yes, there are exceptions in cases, like positive discrimination, or places, like farmers in South Africa, but most white people don't face serious disadvantage.

Being a man is way more of a double edged sword. There are lots of advantages, but I'm also statistically more likely than average to die young, get less education, be murdered, die at work, get addicted to drugs or alcohol, be homeless, kill myself, etc etc (die of Covid 19 is the latest fun addition).

Can we even compare "men are trash" to the sexual assault and harassment women have to keep in the back of their mind every damn day? It's a joke with truth behind it. Time to get over it.

I just read that myself, and thankfully there are people on there who are speaking sense and standing up to the side-stepping attempts of the feminists in there to avoid admitting that #MenAreTrash is a hate statement. For those who are trying to justify this hashtag by making the claim "well its not about you. Don't take it personally." - how on earth should someone take a blanket statement declaring that they are trash? Stop. Excusing. Hate speech!

MensLib is a site that tows the feminist line. Ergo, men cannot express their opinions/advocate their issues unless they alter their language to suit popular feminist theory. And god help anyone who even politely offers a constructive critique of feminism for you will be banned in a finger snap.

For all the unsavory aspects of r/mensrights, it's the only place where men are given a chance to air their grievences and highlight their issues without a backseat feminist looking over their shoulder. And you won't be banned for bringing problematic aspects of the sub-reddit up. Only downvoted.
