My husband and I just became fathers to a little boy, and I wanted to thank this community for the support, it made a world of difference.

Our boy was born through surrogacy in a country where that's not easy at all, and the road to get here was hell.

We had to face adoption authorities rejecting us again and again. We had medical practitioners treating us like second class citizens. We had to accept the gay movement was not going to support us because "intersectional feminism comes first". We still have to face a justice system that thinks fathers shouldn't have rights.

This space allowed me to make sense of it all. Wihout you all I would have gone insane.

And thank to all of you I feel better prepared to welcome a boy in this world.

I've been active here under various usernames, although I'm trying to distance myself from social media and probably won't be around much anymore, this sub was a huge support in the final steps of the hardest struggle I've had to face yet. A thousand thanks to you all, and the moderation team especially.
