In a post about the discrimination against homeless men the user u/ObviousObservationz commented to make excuses for this discrimination, this is not the first time. all comments by this user in men's rights subreddits are discrimination apology, according to him/her discrimination against men always have a ligetimate reason. despite the fact that 75% of the homeless are men and 90% of homeless deaths are men giving priority to homeless women when giving housing is somehow legitimate ! that's called rationalization.

Rationalization:

In psychology and logic, rationalization or rationalisation is a defense mechanism in which controversial behaviors or feelings are justified and explained in a seemingly rational or logical manner to avoid the true explanation, and are made consciously tolerable—or even admirable and superior—by plausible means. It is also an informal fallacy of reasoning.

Rationalization happens in two steps:

  1. A decision, action, judgement is made for a given reason, or no (known) reason at all.
  2. A rationalization is performed, constructing a seemingly good or logical reason, as an attempt to justify the act after the fact (for oneself or others).

Rationalization encourages irrational or unacceptable behavior, motives, or feelings and often involves ad hoc hypothesizing. This process ranges from fully conscious (e.g. to present an external defense against ridicule from others) to mostly unconscious (e.g. to create a block against internal feelings of guilt or shame). People rationalize for various reasons—sometimes when we think we know ourselves better than we do. Rationalization may differentiate the original deterministic explanation of the behavior or feeling in question. (read more here))

Warren Farrell wrote in his book The Myth of Male Power about how the feminists leaders who called scientist who claimed that women are emotional and less fit for leadership sexist and bigot then used the same argument to argue that women should be given less punishement when commiting crimes or killing their husbands.

And even Ernest Belfort Bax wrote about it in the 1913, from the first wave feminists argued that women are strong, equal to men and they can do anything the man do and even do it better, but at the same time women are weak, fulnurable and inferior to men therfore they should be given extras privileges.

One of the examples he gave is the act passed in 1820 by the English Parliament abolishing the punishment of flogging for female criminals. today there are multiple countries that abolished the death penalty for female criminals like Russia for example, in Singapore corporal punishement in schools in only allowed against boys !

There is no excuse for discrimination:

Discrimination is evil, there is no excuse for discrimination. if you reject the rationalization of Saudi Arabian government when banning women from driving in the name of "protecting women's safety" you should reject the rationalization of anti male discrimination.
