The p-values the author of the post came up with are almost all >0.05, which means that there's no statistically-significant correlation. The only figure that was lower than 0.05 was the overall death rate.

I agree with the author of the post that, statistical significance aside, it's far too hasty to presume that female-led countries are actually more poorly-governed, or that their response to COVID-19 is meaningfully due to the gender of the country's leader.

That said, it's definitely helpful to see that the people making (masculine) gender an issue are obviously doing so for ulterior reasons. There just aren't any meaningful data at this point to suggest that male leaders are worse (as is the reverse).

I think that there's really too much variability in why and how countries are responding to covid to say that it's gender related. In either direction. Unfortunately, people like Trump have dropped the ball so very hard that it's difficult for people to see that.

Please don't do that. This reminds me of the question why most venomous animals live in warm climates. Answer: It just happens to be that way, and unless you have a couple of parallel universes, it is impossible to test any theory on that. Any comparison of democratically elected leaders by gender is probably just a coincidence.
