Vaush debating an MRA this evening

Started watching. I think BlueOrange 22 (the MRA guest) could have worked on nailing down some things early like when Vaush said:

"Every feminist I know opposes conscription/the draft" Blue Orange could have brought up:

"Why is that not reflected in any of their bills? Does the average feminist matter when the ones who make the legislation call the shots? Most feminists you know are sympathetic to men, but the ones writing legislation are not."

Truth is most of the conversation were the two agreeing while Vaush did his best to carry water for feminist legislators. They agreed on a fair bit except on whether feminism helps men at all.

Here's some things that the MRA should have brought up.

-Pointing out that the MeToo movement and rape culture is entirely based on anecdotal evidence, after Vaush constantly calls everything he says anecdotal.

-Pointing out that you can't believe police brutality is a real problem while simultaneously believing false accusations don't happen.

-There actually is data that suggests that police are biased against men, which ironically is the same data set that breadtubers constantly use to prove systemic racism.

i opened the tab, heard vaush brining up toxic masculinity, and closed the tab

the whole thing is so boring now. anyone who brings up "gender roles" as the cause of problems, "gender abolition" as the solution... it just displays such a lack of actual thought that it's pointless to listen to them. it's like trying to have a discussion on economics and you've got some 17 year old dweeb in the room shouting that all property is theft and we need an anarcho-communist revolution to fix everything.

the problem most "MRAs" have is they attack toxic masculinity in a very shallow way. by saying something like "the term is anti-men". That may be true, but the feminists who use that don't feel like it is, and they have a whole page of reasoning why it's not. So in their mind, toxic masculinity is fine, and to be against it comes from a lack of understanding. In other words, they think they have the highground of knowledge, so they're certainly not going to be swayed by someone they feel like they need to teach.

you need to attack toxic masculinity in ways which shows you do understand it, even from their point of view. But even buying into it, you can still show it's an absolutely useless framework. The endgame of toxic masculinity is the destruction of ideals, the destruction of gender roles. Both of which are absolutely idiotic beyond belief, and you can show this. Some feminists realize this (the gender abolitionists type), some don't.

Vaush is a radical feminist, and he does the "leftist" thing of calling himself a gender abolitionist while enforcing harmful expectations of men. Don't expect an honest debate from him. The last time he debated an MRA he chose a holocaust denier. If you can't win a debate on facts, you can just choose to debate a holocaust denier, that's an easy win. If he's debating someone then that person is an idiot.
