DNA is a language and only an intelligence can produce language.

Of course ESA scans show the earth in the center - it's showing the observable universe from where we are, which is on a fucking sphere with satellites in a spherical orbit, or in geosynchronous orbit around a sphere. Also, the current theory is that the universe is flat.

You do realize that there are more translations then just the King James version right? I'm partial to the Complete Jewish Bible which uses the 1917 Jewish Publication Society's translation of the Tanakh from Hebrew to English and Dr. Stern's translation of the Greek and Syriac originals of the New Testament. The oldest copies of the Tanakh go back to 800 BC while the original New Testament (B'rit Hadashah) dates to the second century under the Aramaic translation of the Peshitta.

Given the state of the world when it was written slavery was all the rage. Slaves were abused and murdered by all the other cultures around the Jewish people. They were even given the wages that they earned during the time in slavery. So because they were paid doesn't make them a slave. They were hired help that had to be taken care of. Also, slavery is still rampant throughout the world. It's even here in the US and they are illegal aliens that have no protections under the law. I did a rant on secular humanism after watching a debate.... Here it is:

Secular humanism – the core religion of materialism, hedonism, and statism – is a facade which seeks only to demonstrate moral superiority of the atheist over the theist through the perpetuation of an innate, false empathy for the collective well being of human life in totality. The irony is that: the immorality of a theist can be blamed on the ideology from whence it came, whereas the atheist claims these immoral, devolutionary philosophies as intrinsic to the actor – themselves. The altruistic atheist, for example, cannot explain his altruism, especially considering in-group/out-group dynamics. Global altruism, for example, would prove highly contradictive and self-destructive.

The atheist who is willing to die for a stranger, for instance, cannot explain why – other than that altruism is what is generally admonished of theists. What reason would an atheist have to die for another especially one with whom they shared no goals or virtues? All that an atheist can claim is that his altruism was inspired by besting that of a theist, to say: “I am willing to die for another on my own accord, because it is intrinsic, not because I am called upon to do so.” So it is thus that the secular humanist will simply adhere to immoral philosophies of self-sacrifice for no apparent, objective reason. The immorality of self-sacrifice is not innate to human life, and is antithetical to all concepts of evolution – the greater sacrificing for the lesser is not virtuous, for only the lesser remains. Religious ideology calls upon its adherents to submit themselves to a human inspired, man-conceived notion of “God” and therefor to the collective good of the creation of God – all people, or all life no matter who or what that life may represent. The greater should never sacrifice for the lesser, both theists and atheists would do well in remembering this basic decree. We do not need government or man-made gods to impose suicide upon us that would have superior groups destroyed for the benefit of the inferior. Rather an objectively construed mathematical “God” predicated upon the advancement of the superior, as dictated by natural evolutionary environmental causation.The growth of superiority is indeed virtuous and will occur naturally.

Religion, unfortunately, is simply the only way to get a population on board with behaviors that benefit society, even when those behaviors may not lend the greatest dopamine hit. Secular humanism is a completely subjective philosophy - it isn't backed by anything but human emotion, which is the opposite of rational. It isn't backed by evolution, it doesn't call for actions which stifle some of the unwanted behaviors of living in hunter/gatherer societies such as the 80/20 rule, it isn't based on mathematics, it has no deity (which for any who believe the deity to be real is at least objective to their perception, which is technically "good enough" as far as society is concerned - meaning from the perspective of the rest of us - this does not include Islam btw unless you are a Muslim of the same sect ie. the perceived in-group but Islam is much different from Christianity and Judaism).

I understand what humanism ATTEMPTS to do, but it does not replace religious deities to the average member of society and it basically amounts to some guy somewhere claiming that some behavior is moral or immoral because he feels a certain way about it. If you take "God" away from a population, nothing you or anyone else does matters anymore. You are temporary programs on a harddrive with no user, destined for deletion. So now what? Why abstain from promiscuity and drug use? Why care about anyone else at all? Where is our real purpose and who will even remember it? Nihilism is unfortunately the only replacement for most of the population. Sam harris described a moral framework which suggests "the greatest amount of physical pleasure for the greatest amount of people" is the imperative of morality. But this is wrong. This basically equates to John lennons "imagine", which would be the absolute end of human civilization.

Objective morality is essentially a collection of traits and behaviors which would manifest as the increased fitness and therefor evolutionary success of the perceived in-group, in question, practicing said behaviors in whatever environmental milieu said group finds themselves.

So let's make evolutionary biology god for a second. God said "let there be natural selection" aka survival of the fittest. "Fit" refers to the fitness of the individual or group. Those with the most "fitness" survive and pass on their genes and grow, the least fit die off (and then everyone in the middle). Natural Selection is a term coined to the mechanism which states that the most important traits one can have for success in an environment will be naturally passed on to the next generation while those without these traits will not live long enough to breed or will be actively rejected due to their unwanted mutations. In evolutionary terms, morality would have to be whatever behaviors led to better fitness of the individual or group - if we can't count survival instincts programmed into us via biology as the objective foundation for our set of moral codes, then we have no objective sense of morality. You just have a clusterfuck of people's shitty emotional garbage which lead to quotes like "the path to hell is paved in good intentions" by people who THOUGHT they were moral based on how they felt about a particular something or other....

Anyway, religion is a human construct - true. But, it is mostly a collection of behaviors which BENEFIT society in the era of civilization, which would be the human species current environmental milieu - it's true, biblical teachings (New Testament especially) align with proper behaviors that lead to overall social success and cohesion of a society (which then allows that society to focus on economic prosperity). You see, we can't run a society living as we did in the wilderness of our evolutionary ancestors. You do realize the 80/20 rule is natural, correct? This alone can kill your society in a few generations - the bible pushes marriage because (even though it has become a near-lethal endeavor, it is in fact a necessary element of a successful civilization: a nuclear family structure in the majority of your nations population (MGTOW walking away for me means that I am actively allowing this society to collapse as these necessary structures have been poisoned or outright destroyed).

But, what if we were to prove there were no god and thus no real purpose? You would see a massive blow to the "human spirit" of your population. You would break them. For some, this is all they have. (No god means no infinite perception of you means you don't really exist. Why? Because you will blink out of existence - die - and so will anyone who's ever known you or of you - you never existed, and neither did they, you're the tree falling in the forest with no one around to hear it - did you make a sound? Do you know what the teaching is all about? It is about making your enemies treat you as an equal. See in the Roman empire higher social ranked individuals would hit a lower ranked individual on the cheek as the mouth was reserved to someone of equal rank. Again it falls under being treated as an equal. Under Roman law, if a non-citizen helps a citizen then they can be made a citizen through their actions which leads to them being equal under Roman law for citizenship. The point Yeshua was making was to not fight the Romans for the sake of fighting the Romans as per what happened with the Maccabean revolt. It was to become equal to Roman citizens by becoming Roman citizens themselves.
