It doesn't make sense biologically but people are so fixated on the "wholesome" narrative of STEPping up to take care of another man's child. You're essentially promoting his genetic line over your own while he doesn't need to lift a finger. I guess it's not too bad if you have a child of your own but it certainly doesn't help you. A lot of the commentary here is from hurt people. The biggest alpha move you can actually do is not caring what classifies you as beta/simp/alpha whatever. Just do what you want with your life. If that’s loving and caring for a little human that’s not your genetic then so be it.

Yeah these commenters are also forgetting the nature/nurture issue. Raising someone else's kid will still change their personality and even affects gene representation.
Also, isn't civilisation supposed to be above that anyway? Like raising someone else's offspring wouldn't be a great idea if you were an ape with no technology living in a jungle treetop. But in an advanced society like ours it literally makes no difference. People think their genetic line is so special (despite the numerous genetic problems everyone has) but we already have the technology to change your DNA.
If you want to look after someone else's kid because you love your partner and you want to give the child a second chance, then good on you. You're a human, not a savage.

Right on. My deadbeat father left when I was 2 and died when he was 44 because he lived an “alpha” life. My step dad has many “beta” characteristics but he raised me from 10 onward and taught me hard work. He retired last year when he was 55 and is a millionaire. We have a great relationship and we enjoy spending time together. Not much for that man I wouldn’t do. I’d probably wipe his ass if he were too old to do it himself. Not much beta about that.

Man a friend of mine is doing this right now , we went out for rinks to watch that Mcgregor / Cowboy fight and the whole first hour he told me about his "step daughter" ( they're not evern married) and how much they enjoy playing Fortnite together and then he got REALLY excited when he started talking about how the grandparents and mom elected him to take his stepdaughter to her softball practice .
I know him , I know he has a big heart but I feel like if this relationship doesn't last ( It's barely been 4 months) he's gonna be crushed completely and totally. oh also he told me how the step daughter basically empties his pocket and told him that he's not her dad after he paid for her , her mom, and her friend to go to Disneyland ..... she did this while they were at the park .

I had a friend who says his ideal woman will not only already have a child, but some history of drug use (though she has to be clean now). His reasoning being he wants to prove he can love the child as much as his own, and he wants her to have a history of drug use because he plans to help people with drug issues one day and somehow having his wife specifically having been a meth user will somehow give him the appropriate insight.
