EXACTLY! I always say that. Just because you read BOOKS (fabular books that is) doesn't make you smarter, actually it's just as same indoctrination and brain-damaging tool as TV is. My mom probably read thousands of books in last 10 years and I am superior compared to her on intelligence level, she tends to stumble for words (which completely kills the "you are rich of words if you read books" myth). I am interested in science, facts, religion, history I watch documentaries, and don't touch physical books, only if I really have to, or I read some iteresting articles. Thanks to that I managed to get an engineer degree in IT & Computer Science, while being one of the best students of my year (most likely top-5, and I was in 11th or 12th place in my whole college, so not bad, for over a hundreds of students on this particular specialty). I ducking hate book reading people that think they are the shit.

The only book I read in the last year is "The Annotated Turing". Its a dissection of the famous Turing Entscheidungsproblem paper that introduced the world to the Turing Machine. I am halfway through it.

Couldn't be further from the truth.
I've been a musician since I was 12 and have also worked in film and tv. Here in the UK i worked for one of the biggest post production houses, I've seen the inner workings. I don't call 'keeping up with the kardashians' trying and that's my problem.
Talented people, men especially are kept down at everyone's expense.
