Good thing I don't watch movies at the cinema anymore. That industry largely survives due to pathetic couples on dates that can't stand each other so they go to a place where they can be at peace "together". I prefer 100x times to watch the movie at home with not overpriced food and with proper quality and sound, they just have to stop giving theatres the embargo and let people watch premieres online to demonstrate how useless and obsolete that whole industry is.

From what I read, Disney forced a lot of theaters to give them more revenue from the ticket sales and are forcing the theaters to hold the movie for a longer time than they should. Apparently it has to stay 4 weeks minimum in the largest theater of each building. I think it should be interesting to see whether some theaters stop having future Star Wars films because of this unfair deal and the fact that it’s flopping. I would love to see Disney burn down in flames for this.

The part that made me genuinely angry was Finn piloting his speeder into the death beam, ready to sacrifice himself to save what was left of the rebellion, and then that cunt just rams into him, at a time when they had absolutely no hope left for survival.

If Luke hadn't used the Force as a bullshit plot device, Rose would have been responsible for the end of the rebels. And the only reason she did it is 'don't fight what you hate, save what you love'. Bitch are you serious you just doomed everyone you 'love' for no reason.

This movie is stupid, and it doesn't help that half of it was spent trying to fix the bullshit in The Force Awakens

Honestly, I don't think it's bad because of 'progressivism,' it's just a shitty movie regardless. I saw episode 7 and I'm not going to see episode 8. There was no character development, no new plotline or antagonists, no surprises. I don't care that there's an excess of minorities and women, it could be filled with straight white men and it would still be a shit movie.

There are still a lot of people desperately shouting about how much they loved it and attacking anyone who criticises it. Even on r/PrequelMemes (where normally the sequel trilogy is either disliked or ignored), people are making memes accusing people who didn't like TLJ of being spoiled fanboys and getting loads of upvotes.

Hopefully this will just be like TFA, where the first reaction was overwhelmingly positive, then more and more the "this is just a flashy Ep. IV ripoff" view became the dominant opinion as people slowly caught up to reality.

Some damage was irreversible...but there's still some room for some redemption.

Star Wars is finished for me though. If the same director is supposed to make another trilogy after this one - no thanks.
