Marriage is like a bad, exotic vacation:

You get excited about the huge trip you're about to take
Set aside way too much money for extras.
You get there, but nothing looks like the brochures.
You realize a thousand other suckers have probably been here.
At some point you get robbed, and can't call anyone for help.
The time just drags on and you want to leave.
You make it home deflated and depressed.
You swear you'll never make this mistake again.
And...you end up paying for that trip for years.

It's really interesting how my old man is telling me to date, but keep my own place (don't cohabitate). My older sister tells me to avoid women's trapping, get a vasectomy or always use condoms. My mom is mostly worried about my health and if I get enough to eat, and my bigger brother advices me to travel the world alone.

No one is actively asking me about or nudging me towards LTR, marriage, kids and such, despite me being in the prime age for the parasites to suck dry.

I'm surprised how red pilled my family is regarding certain aspects, despite them all being family people. Especially my sister, who's been dropping truths sounding like the rational male content ever since I became single again.

I've been told both ways. I think about it like this, most likely it won't work and I don't feel the need. I don't get why people think I should get in a relationship, am I hurting people by not doing it? Well my parents because they want more grandchildren but they made their choice and I'm making mine.

I put all my eggs in one basket with a woman. She bait and switched. After we bought the house, she dropped it on me that I would be responsible for paying the mortgage on my own. 5 years after feeling really financially stressed out, I caught her cheating. Whatever you do for a woman is not enough. They always want more, and quite honestly don't seem to appreciate what they have. They think their beauty is currency. It isn't.

modern marriage just doesn't pass a cursory cost benefit analysis for a guy, there is literally almost no advantage whatsoever in being married as a man, but there are a string of commitments and responsibilities which are fundamentally unfair.

THE BIGGEST REASON NOT TO GET MARRIED AND THE PROOF OF HOW UNFAIR THE SYSTEM IS BELOW THIS:

By the courts It's deemed fair that a woman should receive alimony because her career and future earnings have been compromised because she spent time out to raise and nuture a child (housewife)

But when it comes to custody if the court was fair it would apply the exact same logic, a mans ability to see his children has been compromised because of the sacrifices he made in the marriage to be a wage earner to provide them so in a divorce he should get equal entitlement without question at the same rate women receive alimony.

BUT THAT DOESNT HAPPEN, the courts seem to punish men for being providers twice,

fuck the courts and fuck marriage, I will never ever get married as long as i live (unless some billionaire model wanted to :))

I have never had a man that has been married for any length of time suggest that I am missing out on anything by being single.

The extent to which this had been my experience is horrifying. Even friends with apparent happy marriages and families in public will confide in private how unhappy they are with their life choices. The advice is out there but men will continue to believe in the face of the evidence that mine is different, it won't happen to me.

There's a lot of guys who are stuck, they never could man up and get out of their situation, for fear of being alone or divorced raped. But whats worse than living a life shame and could've beens? You see those guys with their heads down walking behind their wives, BMS is a real thing and it's sad to see it in the wild. You are a smart man, hold your head high and smile.

I am an older guy (50ish) who recently got divorced and let me tell you, marriage is for women, not for men, you don't get shit out of it except loss of income, loss of your self respect and loss of your valuable time.

If MGTOW had existed when I was 20 (hell the internet was just getting started at that time) there is no way I would have married as they state things I have wondered about a long time but thought there must be something wrong with my thinking. If you feel something is wrong about society or a woman, follow that intuition you are most likely right. Don't let society dictate how your life plays out.

I am so happy seeing young guys going their own way, they have a great chance of not wasting half their life trying to make a woman happy.

during my first job out of college, had a dude in his mid-50's that told me "Don't marry the hot girl. Marry the girl that will be a good mother to your kids." Best advice I ever got. And I thankfully followed it.
