Down syndrome kids are wonderfully awesome. I've worked with quite a few. They go through a grumpy stage about age 4, then of course as teens. past that, as adults most of the boys I've met who grew up with downs are honest, loyal to a fault, hard working, candid, funny as f#(% all, brave, interested in their own quirky things, and genuinely interested in others, want to help, and learn new things.

I've done the sugar baby thing a few times... key is to move on the moment they think it's serious or it's costing more than dialing up the escort (in Europe that's 100-150Eur an hour).
Sure as a guy in his mid-50s it's fun to head to Spain with a 20-30 yo cutie and party/have fun and get along with no hassles (they're not bitter yet and especially the ones closer to 20 are thrilled with a fancy dinner, nice hotel and some nice outfits... and want to discover great/interesting sex).
Keep in good shape and don't fall in "love"... maintain real, solid friendships and have fun... you'll be happy
