I thought mental health disorders were kind of made up and told people I couldn’t relate to them. I’d tell them to suck it up. Turns out I can have anxiety attacks when I’m under stress/physiological problems and the feeling felt so alien to me I went to the hospital for them to tell me that. Magnesium water helps me and conscious breathing. It rarely come up anymore but I know how to treat it. It’s like your own little hell. The horrors of clinical depression are no joke and now I’m more aware and empathetic toward people who have mental diseases. Not some thot who uses the word carelessly because it’s “trendy”.

The reason people roll their eyes when they hear depression and anxiety is because their "light " variants have been around forever. It's where the whole "suck it up life goes on" mentality comes from. Because everyone at some point will suffer a depressing episode in their life.
So when some random kids moan about depression, especially in first world countries the right response is "go fuck yourself you spoiled child ".
Not to be confused with severe/clinical depression and actual anxiety attacks brought on by a suffering nervous system

I have a buddy of mine that is severely depressed right now. He broke down the other day while we were having a few beers. I've never seen him like that before and I've known him since we were kids. I myself have been struggling with depression and sometimes crippling anxiety so I know what he's going through. He has no one to turn to. He's tried opening up to his mother who kind of just waves him off. I told another one of our friends that I was worried about him and his response was "He just needs to get laid".
It angers me that society doesn't take mental health seriously but the reason for it is thots like this cunt in the picture.

I always say that a person truly suffering from depression wouldn't have the drive or motivation to put on a tube top, let alone upload a photo of herself online for validation.
Depression for me is being underweight and malnourished all my life because I don't feel motivation to eat.

I hear you. When I posted my first message, I was in a bit of a depressed state myself and was narrow minded.
Part of the frustration stems from the fact that its so, so much easier for women to get support. When I was at my worst years ago, I didn't have a support network of friends to reach out to or to keep me on the right path, so I had very few people I could talk to or count on to help me. I learned early on in life that I didn't have the charm or charisma or confidence needed to have people to fall back on. I was alone. In many ways I still am, but I've built my own support network of coping mechanisms and my own accomplishments to fall back on.
I could go to get help, but the waiting lists are long enough as they are, and I'm a white male so I'm sure I'd get priority and I'm sure I'd be treated fairly without being told to "man up" by a feminist with a chip on her shoulder. /s
This community is the only place we can really talk about certain rather depressing issues and truths without being labeled an incel for even voicing a slight bit of frustration with the way gender relations are. Sometimes it comes out wrong, of course.

As someone who has been suffering with anxiety for a long time, it's not as simple as "working out". Exercise is only a small part of overcoming it. You essentially have to re-wire your brain which takes time and it's not something that can be done overnight.

Yeah can’t really get over it. It comes and goes. I know it’s in my head it’s a mental disorder. Exercising when I’m having an attack doesn’t help me it just makes me more anxious because I have heart problems in the family and I constantly think about it. I get plenty of exercise lifting and moving at my job also an avid walker and riding my bicycle it fun. Thanks for the concern though.
It’s gotten better over the years. Feel like I can be me again if any are curious.
I'm only giving suggestions, I've never experienced depression in real life, except for first world problems. I'm happy you're getting better on your own terms.

Not true. It is a strong genetic predisposition. It's actually almost completely genetic. My brother needs no mediation or mental tricks or anything, and he is anxiety free all the time, even under pressure, even as a child. I am the opposite, mediation and mental strategies help but only 10 to 20 percent I would say.

I used to think depression was cool but when I got depression that shit wasn't cool at all. Like when I liked going to the hospital to visit people and even when I was admitted a few times I liked the atmosphere of the hospital. Everyone helping each other, it felt like I was in one big family every time I went. But as I got older I realized I was in the hospital for major shit. Broken arm, concussion, aunt was terminally ill, bad case of the flu ....and I thought to myself ...all that shit sucked! I hate going to the hospital now.
