Great day in the morning! How hard can it be to look after yourself?

In the times I've lived absolutely single (these days I rent a room in somebody else's house) I never found it such a bother to cook, clean, do laundry and so on. A single bedroom apartment just isn't that big of a chore to keep on top of, and if you can't handle the few dirty dishes you make while cooking----.

Same thing about laundry. You're cleaning your own clothes--- it's only as hard a job as you make it. This is the day and age of automatic machines, fer cryin-out loud--- not the days of taking your clothes out by the creek and beating them against a rock.

"Life-draining household chores"? I'll buy that IF you're taking care of more than just yourself. Got three kids who make a mess of the place every day all day long? Cleaning the place becomes a challenge. Just keeping up after yourself? How big of a project did you make it before deciding to do something?

Don't live with a woman
Own less stuff in a smaller space
Develop the mindset that preparing a meal includes cleaning up after the meal
Spend a few minutes cleaning something every day.
Laundry: You can wear the same clothes multiple times. Most people in other developed countries do this. If you don't have washing machines in your home, clean lightly soiled clothes in a sink/tub/large bucket. Let soak for a couple hours or overnight, air dry.

It's not that hard.

Chores? If you're living alone I wouldn't put much stock into it. Who are you looking to impress? Do what you think is right for living in an ideal space.

Cooking? Get yourself the largest slow cooker/crockpot. Bung in some: beef, beer, carrots, potatoes, onions, bay leaves. When you return home from work, it's all done! It will last you for the best part of the week, too.

You can also look into buying cheap cuts of meat that no one buys (usually tough cuts, but the slow cooker will take care of it!)

like any other self improvement project, take it one day at a time.

Cleaning needs to be done but you don't have to produce professional results. Try cleaning one room per day - by Friday (well, not today) you should be much better off.

Cooking is not an easy skill, especially if you are starting from scratch. There are many community cooking classes available. There's one at my local community center and another at various grocery markets.

Remember above all, to bring this back to mgtow philosophy: it was the women who insisted that men learn to do these things. My mother forced me to clean the house and help her cook (she doesn't cook much - my father is the chef) and thus by late teenage... age, I could cook and clean by myself. When I moved out, I wasn't always eating fast food/take out.

Just start doing things outside of your comfort zone. Or if you have the spare cash, hire a maid or domestic servant.

Laundry's not a big deal. I just do it while I'm watching the game or something. I would say this: try to get a place with laundry in the unit. I lived in a building with the laundry downstairs and it was a pain.

The best advice I have goes with what ryeshoes said: Stay on top of shit. Don't let dishes, laundry, or other tasks pile up. This way you usually only have to do ONE thing per day (and sometimes none at all).

To me, laundry is one of the easiest jobs. With laundry, all you have to do is load up the washer/dryer, start it, and go do other things. I don't do much folding of my clothes - just some shirts and pants, so that doesn't take much time either. Dishes are what takes up so much time, especially if you cook often. Fortunately, this task is minimized because we're single, so there isn't usually much, and if you have a dish washer it's even easier.

mitigating the burdon of life-draining household chores?

1) burden

2) get faster at them. You benefit the most from the work being done so just reduce the work itself. I do dishes in the shower, I do just the dishes I need for the next few hours until a day off happens, I do laundry and cooking at the same time while I'm then heading to the shower or cooking meals.

Saves time and makes the entire process shorter. I used to smoke inside while doing it. Now I don't which (lease: can't) takes up more time and makes me less happy but I'll live.

I fucking hate laundry, and suggest a laundry service, lest you spend entire days listening for buzzers and pausing whatever you're doing

Laundry is inside where I live. I can do it any hour, no extra cost. I do laundry once per week and that's all it takes. 1 washer load. No reason I'd go through clothes any faster. I work in an office not an oily garage or as a baker or outside. Understandably if you have soiled work-clothes you'll be washing more.

let's face it, there's a lot of little things females do around the house, that for a person with a job is a lot of work, takes up valuable free time, is often neglected (bachelor pad syndrome), and may even be a barrier to independence.

I've never had women do this for me so I can't even imagine what it's like. To me women are a hole for sex and a mouth that has attitude and laziness / incompetence most of the time, a few rare exceptions to the extreme opposite, but also filthy in terms of scatter and nonsense items.

My bachelor pad is cleaner than every woman's apartment I've ever been in.

Before any dish goes in the sink and stays there it gets a FULL scrub. Maybe without soap, maybe with if the grease is bad. Then they can soak in soap water OR they can sit dry until I have time to soap them up and toss them in the shower. The power-spray in the shower is just like (not quite strong enough) when I washed dishes in a restaurant. Power-spray is the way to go.

I have a schedule set for myself, like through the whole week I wear the clothes and then when Sunday comes I wash the whole load.. Isn't too time consuming as the machine does all the work and while I wait I either work-out/read/homework.

Seems you're pretty well off with cooking.

I shop at Cost Co. I do laundry once a month. I buy enough white/darks to last a month. I dont fold any cloths. Sox and boxers go in a box, i hang all my t shirts and other cloths. Its super efficient and i use my time to do the things i really care about. My place is always clean. If there is clutter, i throw it out. There are things in our lives that we just dont use or need. Start reducing, and you will fel more free.
