Rape culture is just rape hysteria. Ladies, no one is raping you on the street in broad daylight.

I take all the precautions I recommend you do. I know self-defense. I don't go slinking around alley ways, get drunk with people I don't know, nor make friends in bars. I don't date anyone who may be a threat. If I leave my drink I order a new one when I return, take it with me, or finish it in the first place.

If you are scared of a mythical rape culture, you're hysterical. You live in fear, individually and as a group, based on your imagination, which means you're not only a child, but you barely rate as human. You live in fear based on the hysterical and narcissistic idea anyone would want to rape you, which I assure you they don't, and out of ideological political nonsense which has caused you to live in fear of non-issues, which means you have no agency, sexually or otherwise, and every day you show why you should be marginalized, ignored, and forgotten.

The precautions I take everyday to prevent rape are;

A) I get fully dressed, no exposed belly, thigh, chest or thong.

B) I don't accept offers from strangers (ie; Hey babe wanna drink? Hey babe wanna party? Hey babe wanna go for a ride? Hey babe wanna sum fuck?)

C) If I tell someone I'm going to a friend's place for the night, that's where I am going for the night, not some other dudes house to get high with 6 guys who want to tagteam me

D) I don't constantly flirt with everyone, because sending false signals is dangerous.

E) I don't become "friends" with dangerous criminals just because they got a jawline and cocaine.

F) I don't advertise thousands of revealing pictures of myself all over the internet.

G) This may be the most important of all - I don't stick my head in a phone 24/7 I pay attention to my surroundings so I don't end up wandering alone in sketchy places.

I'm sure I missed some more, but yes, everyday as a man I take precautions that prevent me being raped.

Answer: Yes, we do take precautions. Those that are married make sure their spouse is "happy", to avoid divorce rape as long as possible. Well, let's see. Every day I, pay attention to my surroundings, avoid shady looking people, don't go home with random people I don't know and most importantly, if someone touches me in a way I don't want I TELL THEM DIRECTLY and stop it right then and there. I carry concealed. In Florida, all you have to do is present a DD 214 and $110 and the State will issue, barring any restraining orders for domestic violence or a few other key factors. In NC, from where I moved last year, you can legally open carry just because.

I have read Unintended Consequences by Ross, and one of the main male characters was gang-raped, and he decided to carry at all times. He also stopped wearing ear buds or headphones while jogging. One female character was abducted and carried to Nevada, raped, and used as a gangster's moll and made to provide sexual favors for important friends of the gang boss, and another female character was found by some local thugs, tied to a fallen tree and raped. [The book has a happy ending, and I can't recommend it highly enough.]

I'm not overly concerned with being raped, but I do have a strong desire not to be raped. I recommend women - all people, actually - every day carry, and not bitch about how you "have" to to avoid getting raped because you're a woman. We all face violent aggression and should be adults and work to enhance our ability to survive.

Actually, I got sexually assaulted by a "friend" I went out drinking with once and he came onto me. The dude pushed me into an alleyway and started grabbing my junk and tried to kiss me. I pushed him back, punched him in the jaw, and stumbled home.

Now, knowing better, I never go out drinking with one individual, I always go alone or with a group. Yes, it does happen to men and no, we get no support. I told my HR what happened because it haunted me for a long time (i still can't trust being alone with most people) and she told me to "stop being inappropriate" and wouldnt listen. Maybe she thought I was coming on to her or was telling a stuoid joke, but I realized that nobody gives a shit about men being raped because they refuse to believe it can happen. fuck them, fuck the rape culture hysteria bullshit.

Talk about a narcissistic culture where almost every woman thinks their worthy of a man going to prison for. A (previous) co-worker once said I was a rapist because she referenced all males just thinking about sex all the time, and that she wouldn't take a lyft/uber to work to be fucking on time because they could rape her in the car.
