Its not that, nobody hates men just like nobody hates all women. Sure mgtow can say they do but biological attraction is still there. Here is what the real problem is. Men love women too much. Men gave so much to protect women because without women a society will collapse in a generation. Men wanted to procreate and now your seeing what happens with a population explosion a lot of the lesser genetics is being weeded out because thats how populations should be going, towards advancement. And we failed to achieve advancement by pure knowledge thus we are hitting a wall where the world is likely going to see a collapse.

Also, there's the paradoxical nature of kindness vis-a-vis gratitude. Generosity is routinely rewarded with contempt and hatred, even if you discount the vindictiveness of female nature.

I don't think society hates men. Society doesn't care about men. Men love women so much. Look at the paintings, music, books, poems, t.v shows, and movies made about women. I always find it funny when women complain about women's lack of presence in T.V and film. The only time that I'd agree with this was Gaz in Invader Zim (the creator himself said that she was underused). Outside of that women are featured heavily in everything. We as a society value femininity so much because it can be healing for both men and women (that's why women love to shop and bullshit like that).

So men are seen as utilities. Nothing more nothing less. It's basically about what we can do for the women in our society.

I'm not really satisfied by the gamete explanation. We're overpopulated, childbirth is now safe/easy, children are expensive to raise and the economy is in the dumps. Either perception is significantly lagged from reality (which is entirely possible) or there's a multitude of other reasons for it. I don't think we should immediately jump to egg/sperm ratios, male expendability etc. when considering this question.

Feminists want to believe it's men who is the cause of their "oppression" or "inferiority". Because if it's not men, then it's biology. Why have men invented all the things we use? Why are men stronger? Why are men generally leaders?

If it came out that biology is the cause of sexual dimorphism, it leads to a determinism they cannot handle. The snowflake culture has made them unable to cope or accept that they aren't capable in the ways men are.

So they need men to be the whipping boy for their anger and hate. Yes men are the cause of most crimes, rapes, and corruption. But men are also the cause of all the innovation, government and structure.

People want something to blame. No no... some ONE to blame for all their woes. It takes away agency and self blame. They don't blame themselves for their issues. They can blame someone else and cash in on it.

The people in charge don't hate men. They need men. The problem is men have a mind of their own, and society would frown upon mass lobotomies. And therein lies the problem.

Society needs men to function. But if men hold themselves in high regard, the people in control can't make as much money. So the best way to deal with men is to beat them down from the moment they exit the womb.

Once men are beaten down enough, you can make them do whatever you want. No matter how degrading it might be.

And in the off chance you destroy a man so badly he starts questioning himself... well, you can just instill the idea of transgenderism. This way, they pump themselves full of estrogen and become just as hysterically fearful as women. Which means they'll be way more likely to turn to the government for help.

The main issue then is dealing with the men who kill themselves. MGTOW are a problem as well, but not as much as people making themselves untaxable.

The gist of the answer to your question is that men are treated as disposable commodities because it helps the species propagate its genes. Women = eggs + womb = very limited commodity = precious. Men = sperm = infinite supply = easily replaced.
