Let's be honest here, both sides are fucking over young men. The left want to ban guns to avoid addressing the true issue, the right want to pawn it off as "mental illness". Neither side is correct. It's a full scale degradation of masculinity created by society and the establishment. What they call "toxic masculinity" now half a century ago was just "being a guy". The Parkland shooting happened because both the left and right, liberal and conservative, democrat and republican FAILED a young man. They ostracized him, labeled him an outcast and cast him aside, and he in turn retaliated and took 17 lives.

So how about we stop pointing fingers saying "the left/right are at fault for this." Society as a whole is to blame for this, because no one gave a FUCK about Nicholas Cruz until he turned Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School into a shooting gallery. If someone took the time in that boy's life before he got expelled to see the stewing aggression in him and said "Hey Nick, let's go to the gym" and talk to him in the process...giving him a productive way to ventilate that energy and an ear to listen to the flood of thoughts in the head of a teenage boy, bet your ass this wouldn't have happened.

But it will happen again, and again, and again...because neither the right or left choose to address or acknowledge the 8000lbs Gorilla in the room. The reason why mass shootings are carried out by men and the reason suicide is resoundingly committed by men is because society has shamed us and conditioned us over the last 50 years to believe what we are on the most primordial of levels is heinous and wrong. Gun culture is pretty male dominated. There's women into guns, of course, but the majority are men. Men who are responsible with their firearms and bond with each other at the practice range or out in the woods during deer season. Responsible, law-abiding gun owners have prevented horrifying violence in the past which robs the "never let a crisis go to waste" types of their agenda. The culture has a strong vibe of "government stay the fuck out of my life" to it as well. Women who conceal-carry have been able to prevent their own bodies from being violated by rapists, all without a shot fired.

Of course Leftists despise them and want them banned.

Guns are banned in every authoritarian regimes. In China the communist party commanded people to hand over every firearms after the 'revolution' that brought them to power. Authoritarian ideologies, to which feminism belongs, do not want people to be able to fend for themselves, they want people to be dependent on the state for protection. Taking away guns also ensures that no revolution can happen, or makes it more difficult for people to start one.

All of these discussions seem to ignore one simple fact. They couldn't take away guns even if they had the desire and political/military backing to do so. Let's look at the math here. Based on manufacturing data, in the United States we have made a minimum of 10 million, and as many as 20 million guns every single year since roughly the mid-1950s. In the same time frame, we have imported several hundred million more. Hell, last year alone, during the month of February, there were over 3 million checks run against NICS for new firearm purchases. 3 million, in 28 days. And those numbers don't even include people like myself, who are exempt from background check requirements, and people purchasing multiple firearms at one time.

Based on those numbers, I put the absolute minimum of privately owned firearms at around 850 million, and I wouldn't even blink if you told me the numbers topped 1.2 billion.

Now, 1 billion firearms among roughly half the population. Let's assume that the 2nd was repealed tomorrow, and a universal ban on private firearms went into effect the same day. Let's also assume that there was a peaceful compliance rate of 95%. (Even in New York, the bluest of blue states, after they passed a law mandating registration of all "assault weapons," they had a single digit compliance rate.) Let's also assume that every single member of the military was both willing to enact this ban, and was an actual shooter, meaning every single clerk, secretary, and quartermaster picked up a rifle. For shits and giggles, we'll throw in every single sworn LEO as well, and we'll assume zero defections or refusal to follow orders. This equates to a standing force of roughly 2 million people.

Trying to forcefully disarm a standing force of 8.5 million people, with home court advantage, and 50 million firearms at their disposal.

It will NEVER happen.

But wait! There's more!

In order to effectively disarm every private citizen, they would have to execute a no-knock raid on every household in America. Assuming no resistance, teams of 15 people per raid, with each team raiding three houses per day, it would take them a total of... 9 years to complete the job

Many people are calling for comprehensive gun control: banning bump stocks (Trump has already called for this himself), ending gunshow loopholes, and preventing firearms from falling into the hands of mentally ill people who are hopped up on psychotropic drugs.

Why go full Alex Jones and scream “OBAMA WANTS OUR GUNS AND WILL SEND US ALL TO FEMA CAMPS.” That’s simply not happening. The NRA is a powerful lobby that have kept gun control at bay.

I️ do agree, however, that society is completely ignoring the fact that our public school systems are suppressing masculinity and drugging young boys in to compliance. But both the left AND the right are ignoring this issue.

I think it's being driven more from TPTB of society which wants the population disarmed and more easily controlled. They also know how to manipulate the population through women and men to acquire this power.

Women are in favor of this because they biologically seek security from the alpha as opposed to freedom. Government has become the family and ultimately the Alpha, so women will align with TPTB to create a greater sense of security. Men have continually been indoctrinated into a feminine mindset and also seek security and a consensus authority to resolve conflict as opposed to handling a dispute themselves.

Growing up, I wish I had gotten into more physical fights. I would have learned more about myself and developed a better understanding/appreciation for defending myself as opposed to seeking security from a higher authority (parents, school administrators, LEOs, etc.). Those higher powers preached conflict resolution through peaceful resolution (preferred but not always pragmatic), an intermediary higher authority, or walk away.

I was way too passive and deferential. That passivity grew into anger and self-destructive behavior during the red pill rage.

When you make a decision, you accept the consequences that come with the decision. That's called being responsible and is one of the reasons women are pieces of shit (because they can never accept responsibility).

Gun ownership comes with the consequences that some idiot is going to steal and use a gun, just out of sheer probability. The damage that one person can do is tremendous, as seen with every school shooting. So even if 1 in 100,000 person who obtains a gun is as mentally deficient as you and shoots up a school, that is a consequence of a country being allowed to own guns.

If you still don't get it, let me simplify: you want to own guns. But that means everyone else, including the insane, can also obtain guns. The current amount of school shooting is a consequence of that and you bear that responsibility because of your decision to allow any person to own a gun.

It's like a woman riding the CC in her 20s. She now bears the responsibility of having several mental disorders and a non-existent career because of it.

I live in Europe, we don't have guns and almost no gun related death and accidents for decades. I understand freedom, but if people are worried about suicides - well, it's so easy to pull a trigger, that easy access to guns is like giving depressed men an easy way out... you know?
Have you ever played a game, and when you did something wrong you'd rather just killyourself and try again, instead of reloading or backtracking? It's the easy way out of a problem. If there were no guns, suicide would also require much more effort, I'm not saying it would make the problem go away, but not having the option might make more people face their reality instead of just blasting their brains off... someone quoted stats, that for 33000 gun related deaths there was over 20000 suicides by guns.... how much less there would be if there were no guns? Sure, people who really want to do it, will still kill themselves, but gun for a man is like taking pills for a woman - easy, available and painless. Many people would be too scared to do it in other ways and so many lives could've been saved.
I know the arguments against banning guns - with as many guns as the US has, it's so easy to buy an illegal weapon and commit crime, and people without guns would be defenseless... but it's not like if you take away guns, the prices of illegal guns will stay at the level they are today? Now I'm pretty sure you could buy an illegal, stolen gun for a couple hundred bucks, but if all guns were banned? Illegal guns would cost 10 times as much to obtain, so less petty criminals would have guns on them... less petty crime ending with death, less cops dying and bein forced to kill on their jobs. I get it, guns are fun and majority of people are responsible with them, but imagine only if religious zealots would have this easy access to explosives or acid, would you freely give them those things without being worried they would use it for wrong reasons? I'd sure feel uneasy with that...
Australia got rid of most guns and their suicide and homicide related deaths are much less than in the US... so there is an example to a successful decrease in crime and death related to decrease in guns available. It's very hard in Australia to obtain an illegal weapon.
