That separation means that they came to an agreement outside of court. I'm sure he offered her a sum of money she was content with. He probably also showed her different scenarios in which she would suffer the fate of a lost court battle, being that he did have her signing that contract.
Here's the sad thing though. 20 years from now she may up and decide to take him to court again claiming damages for giving him the best "years of her life." Yep, there was even a story a couple of weeks ago in the legaladvice reddit sub where this kid claimed his mom who had been divorced to his dad for over 17 years was about to take him to court because she was broke and he was doing quite well.

Cohabitation agreements aren't handled in family court. They are handled in civil court.
