I do understand modern conservatives. You advocate for a small hands off government, lower taxes to fuel demand, large military, pro-life, individual liberty, personal responsibility, and rule of law.

But the thing is the people you elect don’t share these values at all. They preach the evils of liberalism but it is simply a smokescreen to keep you from realizing that SPECIFICALLY the Republican Party has been dismantling exactly what made America great in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. And it’s gotten to the point where these fuckers stand to destroy the entire planet for future generations. And these aren’t some stupid ass bible thumpers. These are the most educated and powerful men in America who are knowingly working to destroy the entire planet in the name of short term profits. Well for starters billionaires fund disinformation campaign whose sole purpose is to cast doubt on climate change. But to answer your question scientists have been offering solutions for decades. But oil companies have taken care of that through republican donations. Are you suggesting that using their money and power to suppress battery technology for decades, hiding climate reports, and threatening climate scientists has had nothing to do with that fact that modern republicans are the only demographic in the entire world besides Russia who believes global warming is a lie?

At the end of the day conservatives can present an argument from any angle they want. They simply cannot hold weight because they have no legs to stand on. The entire republican platform is manufactured by the elites to keep useful idiots voting against their self interests.

There are no solutions for climate change? Get real. People have been talking about them for years.

Both cap & trade and carbon taxes are effectively poor people taxes, after artificially increasing the production cost of energy the energy companies would simply increase the price of electricity(a flat tax) which would do far more harm to poor people than wealthy.

The flat out elimination of subsidies is something I and many other conservatives are onboard with, however placing those same subsidies into other industries is just the government going further into interrupting innovation through free trade and is an inefficient waste of resources.

Invest more into solar and battery storage... one of the least efficient means of producing energy. I like the idea in theory but the technology is far from ready to provide for the energy requirements needed. Feel free to invest your money into these, don't force other people to invest theirs.

Kill coal and oil? Lol, hamstring our entire industry, GDP, economy, and quality of life.

Solar farms aren't going to cut it no matter how idealistically beautiful it sounds and nuclear power is widely supported by the right-wing to this day.

The modern right are mostly anti war and would like a sizeable reduction to military spending, the neocon warhawks are hated. I'm not sure what increasing taxes on rich people accomplishes but it seems to be a fun idea for the left to vote to steal money from other people.

Again I don't think you are very familiar with the modern right, you seem to think that the left wing politicians care about global warming yet they only seem to as a political talking point. I'll start believing the left gives a shit when Al Gore and other politicians turn in their multiple homes, suv's, and private jets in order to help save the environment.

As a "conservative" raised by very Liberal parents, I have seen both sides. There is actually not a whole lot of difference between the two camps, the only real difference is that Liberals trust government and media a little more. Sadly, that means they are more brainwashed by a lot of the bs, hence this is why we have problems. All the other differences are slight difference greatly exaggerated by the media. Most conservatives do not like or trust or admire billionaires, and most are not religious fanatics, they do NOT want American troops invading other countries. Conservatives work harder though, they often start their own businesses. This is why they dislike taxes and heavy regulation, because they know they don't get the big breaks that big corporations do, and they know they can be financially destroyed by government at anytime.. Liberals tend to work in government and education places, they don't see the struggles that owners of businesses go through. They live in Plato's Cave, their government and education jobs, a whole world apart. Most of this fighting you see on the streets with liberal "antifa" groups and conservative proud boys is a huge failure to communicate. If these people would stop yelling at each other and actually listen to each other a lot of problems in this country would be solved.

Divorced, yes.

It was more subtle. She'd speak of college ladies in her classes as strong, young women...but speak of the guys as males or boys. Consistently.

When I asked her about it, she denied it. So I began pointing it out everytime and she stopped speaking about her students.

That kind of thing...but it was pervasive.

Speaking of Mom...my mother was a wonderful, devoted, stay at home mom...till I turned 18. Then she transformed into a nasty, nagging, hateful witch, who always knew better than I did, couldn't be pleased, and tried to crush my dreams and hopes every chance she got.

She HATED men, her husband included. My younger brother shared similar experiences once we talked about it, many years after.

I kind of pitied her...until she perjured herself in court to try to get brother jailed for something he didn't do. My mother died in the courtroom that day...

She truly died this past June...and all men were better for her passing.

Hateful bitch.
