It’s funny because it’s showing just the man who took the elevator, not all the men that designed and constructed it. And it shows that men put a lot of thought into getting up there; while the women all just showed up and haphazardly, and without any kind of organization did something wreckless and dangerous(societally, for the metaphor) in order to work their way up.
