Im MGTOW because of the unfairness in the system in things like laws, i have no way to protect myself form abuse form women, therefore, im separating myself from them.
Also MGTOW is a way to spread the information to other men so they dont blidnly walk into getting their lifes screwed, this is very needed because of the massive feminist censorship and propaganda.

MGTOW just means focusing on the correct priorities, generally not requiring women unless there’s an aligned objective, in a legal and social construct which is now alienating and attacking men.

To me it means that I don't have to care about what society wants. I can live life however I want to live, and if that makes me an outcast, so be it. I never used to fit in anyway, so I'm not losing much.

I live in a small town that isn't exactly known as a hot spot. When I meet new people they always ask why I moved here because they see it in a negative light, but for me it's perfect. I like the weather, I like living in a small town, I found a house for under $50,000, it's a great location for my main hobby (riding my bike), and it's close to some good hiking/camping areas. So who cares if it's not the hot place to move like Austin is at the moment?

That's just one example. My house is small, which is fine for me but society (in the USA, at least) equates success with a large house. Who cares? It's already paid of and easy to maintain. I'm not having kids, so I don't need a ton of space. Speaking of not having kids, society will label you an outcast for that.

The list goes on. Don't want to get married? People don't want to accept that. Many of them are jealous, IMO. Don't want to do the traditional 9-5 job until you're too old to seriously enjoy retirement? People will tell you that's too risky. Well, guess what? I tried both in the past and was never happy. Some people just accept it and live a life they don't truly want. People like us have the balls to do something about it.

I was living as a confirmed bachelor for a decade before I encountered MGTOW, so I didn't become MGTOW when I came across it. I'd been living that way (monk, basically) for 10 years already.

To me, MGTOW is a source of information and a perspective that isn't available (is actively disallowed) anywhere else. That's part of why I keep coming back. It says things you won't hear anywhere else. It reminds you of things the rest of society ignores.

MGTOW helped correct a lot of my idealizations of women and romantic relationships. I was a simp. I was a softie idealist who felt pulled to think highly of women and at the same time didn't have a whole lot of experience with them (girlfriends and a wife, but still not much experience compared to some men). Listening to other men's tales was eye opening.

MGTOW also helped me like men more, to enjoy male friendship and cameraderie.

In addition, MGTOW helped me to know, in my bones, that I was on the right path (for me), rather than question my choice. It helped me see additional downsides and risks I had not perceived. It also helped me understand how things have changed in the past 10 years (e.g., the effect of dating apps).

I also find a lot of the content funny. Men have great senses of humor when they aren't constrained by political correctness.

Some of the content is too negative for me, but I don't have any trouble ignoring that.

Work a lot, frugal, save and invest a lot

For me, is primarily is preservation of career, house, property and finances. For me, includes awareness of environment, risk avoidance of certain characteristics , extreme reactions, personalities and both personal, social and financial entitlement, have leaned that I hate entitlement

Military was great start in life for me in many ways. Training, maturing,responsibility, dedication, rewards etc. It opened my eyes to a lot of realization in many ways of the world

Peoples character, true nature, work ethics, intentions are hidden very well. Surprising of those that step over ethics to advance, protect ego and hide from consequences from horrible choices both in personal or professional aspects. People fired or in legal trouble because someone made claims, lying, cheating, ethical and moral decisions, entitlement, hands are out everywhere wanting contributions. This has been my experience in relationships too where entitlement is overwhelming

You are speaking of the two edge cases. The majority of MGTOW still have sex and hook up. They just avoid any long term relationships and try to improve themselves.

The people you are talking about that are women hating are not actually MGTOW - they may be heading that way but are still in their red pill rage phase.

There are also a minority that are monk and have given up on sex.

I mean, if you are wondering why such a thing exists (mainly concerns USA, do MGTOW exists elsewhere? idk) then take a look at r/SupportForTheAccused/ (I am not affirming a causation link, I merely suggest to investigate there too)

It's interesting how most posts there are about false rape/harassment accusations, and the accused is male. Is that just some selection bias? Though that only highlight a part of the problem, there is still the issue of marriage (Tbh that subject is always fucked, in all cultures and nations, it's always one sided and by a huge margin against a specific sex be it males or females).

Though keep in mind I am not American so my life is experience is mostly irrelevant.

MGTOW at first helped me stay out of relationships. Then it helped me stop dating because that leads to relationships. Women spin plates just like men do. They have 2 or 3 guys in a bidding war for her. The one who spends the most money, time or labor on her wins a relationship but she will bread crumb the other guys until she wraps up the one she wants. I don't want her to want me for a relationship and I don't want to be bread crumbed either. So whats the point...MGTOW helped me to go monk.

I like that you reached out instead of hating, dont mind some of the anger that you'll probably get here, some guys are probably just a little charged up from getting angered at things on this sub.

MGTOW to me means the ability to unchain yourself from the need to be liked by everyone at all times.

Often times we live our lives on other people's needs. We always have to have the latest gadgets and tech, yet still speak out against capitalism. We always have to support the latest movement or cause. If you were to criticise even a tiny aspect of say, feminism, you'd get absolutely lambasted, tarred and feathered by a significant number of people.

You could just be speaking about the bad parts, but nobody would even care to see where you're coming from, they'd immediately assume the worst in you. Unlike you obviously, but you're the exception not the norm unfortunately.

And this doesn't just apply to feminism, but MRA, incels, even the other MGTOW sub.

I see MGTOW not as the movement, but the philosophy of genuinely just going your own way, asking the proverbial 'what if' and carving your own path, despite what people will do to put you in line.

It's a way of being empowered to speak your mind, despite the hate that may come.

I see a lot of beliefs in society that are just plain unhealthy. The stuff about killing all men that some feminists tried to popularise, the hyper sexualisation of almost everything, the stuff about raping all women that the opponents of the kill all men folk tried to do, the extremely partisan politics, our general inability and lack of desire to interact with the opposite side of the political spectrum in a respectful way, to empathise and see where they're coming from.

No, everything has to be a reaction, presidents are elected based on clout, uneducated perverts like cardi b are hailed as feminist heroes on the left. People on the right support individuality, unless it's something that they don't like.

Where do people like us fit in?

I'm genuinely a person that would love to be with someone for my whole life, have kids with them or travel the world, face challenges together, build memories etc. And I'm not just talking about it in the cliche romantic sense. Like REALLY commit.

But we live in a world where divorce courts are unfairly biased towards women, where we still claim women are independent. Where people somehow seem to think it's okay to "take a break" from a relationship.

It's a sad state of things when we take a break from something that should be providing comfort and support.

In such a state, it's almost stupid to try and marry someone and make it last.

And finally, it's about my freedom. I have several things in the world that I really love, I like cooking, driving really fast, fixing cars, bikes etc., Hiking, playing the guitar etc.

The very idea that someone could just come into my life, slowly rot me from the inside and take away everything I love and that I would just be lost in a delusional haze of infatuation while the ground literally withers from below my feet, it terrifies me.

I still keep an open mind, I've still sworn to myself that if there's a girl out there that can like me for these things, I would absolutely love being with them

Hate does not exist in this space. If you're offended by what you saw then it just means you can't see yourself agreeing to it. As the great Sandman said, you either love women or know women; you can't do both.

MGTOW to me is pretty much what the subreddit about page says lol, but I'm too young (mid 20's) to worry about my mother nagging me to marry and have kids so MGTOW to me is a life saver that I rejected the first time and I sank so badly. It helped me understand that your self-worth will only be dictated by you and you alone, so focus on improving your life. The pursuit of women veers you off this path. And as a business minded individual myself (I don't own our family business so I don't call myself a businessman) everything to me is a risk-benefit analysis. I can't pride myself to be an above average intelligence individual if I keep falling for the same trap that is the modern woman. That's why I walked away and focused on myself

For me, MGTOW is a completely arbitrary label that I use to find like minded men.

Like with anything on the internet there's lots of trash, but there are a lot of MGTOW I wish to imbibe wisdom from, who have reached the same belief as I did, that happiness can only come from within, and the meaning of life can be found in individual responsibility and self respect.

The refusal to marry follows from those principles, a decision I reached a decade before I heard of MGTOW. The adjacent communities of Men's Rights also brought to my attention about how women can fuck up your life.

To me it's exactly as it suggests, Men going their own way. No cohabitation, no marriage, no relationship with woman of any kind. I see some people are still married or still deal with woman while claiming MGTOW but that to me confuses things and is NOT MGTOW. You either are or aren't that's it.

Just that I got to a certain age and realized I didn't need anything from a woman besides sex. Now that I know how to control my sexual urges, woman are useless to me. In my experience with woman in the past it was impossible to keep them pleased 100 percent so now I choose not to bother.

Women always accept the top guy available to them and reject all lower men. However, with LTRs their program is to find a stable guy with money and then screw the hottest guy on the side or on vacation or when "out with her friends" while blaming the LTR guy's shortcomings for their action in doing this. This is universal. It can be overridden and it is not guaranteed to happen, but the motivation to do this is there for all women.

What does being MGTOW mean to you personally?

There's no such thing as MGTOW. It's not a "movement." MGTOW is men looking out for themselves rather than putting a woman (or man, or society) before themselves. That is all. Women and the people they influence hate that because they want us to pledge their lives to them for 10, 20, 40 years while they fuck our neighbor when we're at work. It drives them nuts when we aren't trying to impress them and compete for their attention. Clearly, I've exited the dating scene as well. ;)

MGTOW men don't really care about each other and it's definitely not a cult. The reason why we are here together is because the rest of society is against us and it helps to exchange ideas with like minds. It also helps get away from the social brainwashing that had us believing that we were bad and that we should spend our lives courting women and dedicating our lives to a marriage if we didn't want to. If society was ok with me only dating a women when I wanted to rather than social pressure into dating, marriage, children, and the like, I wouldn't be here. For me, the biggest problem is the amount of social pressure on men treating all women courteously and never calling them out when they fuck up. I get l a lot of hate if I don't help a women carry out her groceries if she asks, even though she was the one who put them in her cart in the first place. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PUT YOUR OWN WATERMELON IN YOUR OWN CAR, THEN DON'T PUT ONE IN YOUR CART AND BUY IT.

Women want equal pay and equal treatment, but they don't want to do equal work. I'm going to give them equal treatment and equal pay, sure, but only if they are doing equal work. I'm living life for me, not them.

Being MGTOW to me means being unplugged from the gynocentric scheme of things and being more androcentically focused. In simple words: my world view is from my own point of view - as a man - and not from women's perspective.

I live my life differently than I did before in that I don't stress about female validation as I did in my youth because I do not value women's opinions or perspectives anymore. Whenever I am among women I don't care about impressing them or even getting them to like me because their esteem is simply meaningless to me. This has allowed me to instead focus on engaging with my male peers and engage in more constructive and mutually beneficial relationships with my fellow man. It has also allowed me to focus on mentoring younger men concerning matters of life as well as bonding with older men on fraternal grounds. I have found mentors and I also act as a mentor to younger guys who feel that they've lost their way.

I started doing all of this since before MGTOW had a name. The thing that started me off in this perspective on life was waking up to female nature since I was a young man in my early 20's. Discovering who women truly are was the greatest eye opener in my life, it allowed me to free myself from the tyranny of my attraction to them and go my own way and live my life on my own terms - not hers.

The difference between me when i was still interested in dating and long term relationships vs now is mostly "i do not waste any time, thought, or resources on chasing tail, and i take all of that and incest it into myself. My needs, my wants, and my future.

And i am SO MUCH happier having done so.

Idk yet for me, I'm just exploring different ideologies and trying to find one that aligned best with what my beliefs were pre and during marriage. I came here just thebpast few months after getting emotionally raked over the coals by my ex and I know I have so much more pain to go. So in my sense of hurt and frustration I am looking for a mix of "what to look out for in the future", schadenfreude, other's experiences, and how to cope/move on.

What i believe is that a person should be free to do whatever or enjoy whatever and not care what others think.
