Affection won’t make her want to have sex with you. Sex for women is most often a subconscious or conscious trade to keep a men invested/around. When they’re genuinely attracted to you (you look great, high status, someone they’re afraid of losing) they’ll find you more arousing and will desire you. They both love and hate that they could be replaced etc.

When you’re the safe, dull and, predictable husband who has no options, this inner spark is diminished and subsequently the only sex you’ll get is obligated (“I’ll do it to shut him up”), if you get any at all (“Why would I bother fucking him, he’ll stick around anyway”).

We don’t know the state of your marriage, but we do know successful approaches to help long term relationships keep that passion/desire. Key to this are: finding your sense of self (aka a purpose outside of your marriage/kids), take care of yourself physically (lift), no pandering or acquiescing, get a social life outside of your marriage, dress well etc.

Things may change if there’s a little bit of doubt in her mind that she may lose you. Women are turned on by having to keep their man as it strokes their ego that they can maintain the attention of a high value male - you need to make yourself a high value male.
