I must not fear.

Fear is the mind-killer.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

Only I will remain.

Fear

What is it you fear? Is it being alone? Is it not achieving everything you want? Is it being considered a failure as a husband, father, or boss?

Fear can be a powerful tool of self-development if tamed, or it can poison and destroy your mind.

A Buddhist practice is to recognize your fear as a demon that emerges from your mind to stand before you. Ask it what it wants from you, then feed it what it desires. If you are afraid of being alone, then the demon wants companionship. If you fear being a failure, imagine feeding the demon success. Once this demon has been fed you then bond with it and command that it protect you. Thus your fear becomes your strength.

If that is too spiritual for you, try this instead:

  1. Recognize your fear and the form it takes. Some men fear failure and thus work endless hours. Some fear being alone thus have affairs. Some men fear being seen as less than a man and thus are prone to angry outbursts when criticized. These are all manifestations of fear.
  2. Once the form of your fear is recognized, meditate on its cause. Again, anger is fear of criticism. Overwork is fear of failure, etc.
  3. With the form and cause of your fear now acknowledged, begin to train your mind to respond differently to the stimulus that brings that fear forward.
  4. Over time and with consistent effort you will begin to conquer your fear.

The Alpha

The Alpha male feels fear. There is no weakness nor shame in feeling the sickening dread of entropy draping across his mind. The difference is he faces that fear head on and turns it to his advantage in order to make his weaknesses his strengths.

A basic example of this for any true Red Pill man is the fear of change. When you first swallowed the jagged little red pill, as it cut your throat, ripped you from the comforting reality you had known your whole life, and threw you into a world of personal responsibility, you were afraid. But did you let that stop you? Did you close your web browser and go back to your television and pretend it did not happen? Of course not or you would not still be here, confronting the world as it is, not as you would like it to be. You continue to study, meditate, and read because you are confronting this new reality like a man, and not returning to an apathetic mindset which is a response to your fear of change.

Another example is that some of us had little to no experience lifting or taking personal responsibility for our SMV when we came to the Red Pill, and the paralyzing fear of pushing new weights, consistently going to the gym, or dealing with escalating shit tests as our new rising SMV disrupted our relationship status were all challenges that we met and overcame (some of you are not there yet I know). This was the fear of change confronting us, but we saw it for what it was and made it our bitch. This is what you must always do with fear.

The Alpha assesses himself constantly. Like an an ancient knight he tests his armour. Are the joints lubricated? Are the plates strong and overlapping? Where are the weak points an enemy can take advantage of? Reflect on your fear in whatever form it takes and master it.
