Using cycles for short distances e.g. to go shopping locally, is widespread in Japan. Consequently, every locality has at least one repair shop geared up for repairing bikes. (Your puncture is repaired by the time you finish shopping.) Now my bike required being left overnight (brake replacement).

When I went to pick it up, I went into the shop and paid the man, who took me outside to where the finished bikes are stored. Mine was the only one he had locked up. I should note that the passage to this area was invisible from the shop so it would be possible for anyone to walk round and take their bike (or anyone else's) without paying.

I repeated this story to another foreign resident. His reaction: "That annoys me!" Then he clarified: "not that they do that, but that we foreigners have made such an impression that they feel they have to take special precautions with us." I agree with his sentiment.

Now sometimes the tables are turned. How to I react to a group of people that I do not trust? Do I say "I cannot tar all of them with the same brush, out of fairness, I will assume that this snake is not one of the poisonous ones?" No, that would be insane.

We all take credit/blame for our associates, it is a fact of life. Now what if our personal reputation is discredited by someone else, what do we do? Obviously, dissociation is one policy. Another is to condemn the actions of the individual causing the embarrassment.

And that is what I suggest ordinary women now do. Instead of complaining that "not all women are like that" to MRAs, they should actively condemn the misandrist feminist minority in no uncertain terms. And they should do this in places such as women's magazines, where it is normally assumed that women should manipulate and trick men so they can get what they think they want, to show that there is a solid core of decent women who do not buy into feminist entitlement.

Until I see this happen, I feel quite justified in assuming that a modern Westernised woman has a bad attitude.
