Many women don't realize how little compliments men receive. Personally, even the first one, I would enjoy receiving.

The 3rd is a rather common thing, though. I am relatively often praised for knowing things that are involved in my work. That's why I went to that work, because I knew things others didn't. As for that panel, most people aren't able to fix their own computers, so that is something impressive.

I mean...the second panel is pretty normal, maybe not lovely, but otherwise, sure. Personally i have had women i barely know or just met tell me how handsome i am. Never been told to smile more, but smiling is scientifically not important for a man, hell, in russia its even a negative in business deals.

The computer fixing thing, haven't had that, but i have for sewing, cooking, a few other things that i just consider normal life skills. So the last one is the only real...'problem'. Even then, welcome to retail, retail work sucks, thats almost universally agreed upon.

All the comic is doing is making this sort of stuff seem like less of an issue than they'd like you to believe.

I would either feel confident or just not really care. Better than being ignored for months on end only to get a backhanded half-compliment.
