There are a number of issues with non-medical circumcision of children.

In all but some very rare cases is surgery needed medically. All surgery carries risk and the ethical thing for any medical condition is the least invasive, least risky thing first. Some babies die from complications from circumcisions. For example, blood loss is a real issue for infants because they are tiny and have hardly any blood to lose.
The foreskin is a functional part of the penis that protects the head of the penis, so a functional part of the body is removed.
Infants who are circumcised have a higher rate of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
People have the right to bodily autonomy. His body, his choice. Unnecessary cosmetic surgery is a violation of this right
Some men who have been sexually abused find that the circumcision adds to their trauma.
Even if someone only cares about what women think about it, studies show that women with circumcised partners report more sexual problems and less sexual satisfaction. And I believe another study found women with intact partners have more orgasms.
Most of the studies done about circumcision are trying to find benefits. There are much fewer studies looking at the harm it causes. So there is a significant bias in the literature. The reverse is true for FGM.
All of the arguments for circumcision also apply to FGM. In fact, proponents of FGM use the fact that circumcision is legal and widely available to advocate for decriminalising FGM.

I think the biggest overarching problem around here with circumcision is that almost no one who had it done to them, had it done by choice. It comes with a host of risks and complications and these boys aren't being given the opportunity to make that choice for themselves. This is a permanent decision to remove a perfectly functioning body part of theirs and the decision is being made for them without their consent. It's honestly disgusting.

Personally, MY biggest problem with circumcision is the hypocrisy surrounding it and FGM. FGM is almost universally reviled as one of the worst things you can do to a young girl. Being against FGM is a pretty commonplace, accepted, and even encouraged opinion. Yet boys are not given this consideration.

The excuse commonly given for circumcision is "It's cleaner". And, what, you don't think vaginas are magnets for sweat and general nastiness? Anyone who's ever been around one that wasn't particularly well cared for knows exactly what I mean. Cutting off the extra flaps of skin would undoubtedly make it cleaner and also look a lot better, but we're not doing that. Yet it's perfectly okay to chop up a BOY'S genitals for the same reasons.

The underlying issues are that there are no good reasons for them to be circumcised in the first place. Any common reason that most people will state is of the same validity to circumcise a girl. One of the most used reasons is to assist with hygiene in order to reduce chances of urinary tract infections. Guess what? Girls are at a higher chance of getting urinary tract infections. Do you know what you can do to prevent urinary tract infections? Cleaning your god damn gentiles, that's what. If girls have been able to do it uncircumcised for all this time then so can boys.

Circumcision in the United States is an archaic medical procedure that is not only pointless, but goes against the inherit rights of the boy. The boy has no say in it. It is a physical part of his body, and it will be cut off because the parents said so. Circumcision also removes nerves. Nerves that stimulate arousal. Since some of the nerves are removed, so is the boy's arousal potential.

There is simply no good reason to be doing it in the first place. Such as removing your fingernails completely in order to prevent dirt from getting under them.

The purpose of the foreskin is to protect the head of the penis and act as a lubricated sheath during sex. Removing it is more than just a visual change. Imagine if your clitoris was out and exposed all the time rather than protected by the clitoral hood and labia. That is what happens to a circumcised penis.

This surgery is forced upon children because almost no adult men choose to do it. Doing the equivalent to a girl is labeled female genital mutilation and is illegal in many countries. Hence mens rights activists are trying to extend those laws that protect girls genitals from unnecessary surgery to protect boys as well.

The kid cannot consent the kid is awake during the procedure making him uncomfortable and the anesthesia doenst remove all the pain. Ot removes à lot of sensitivity becasue your are loosing many nerve endings and the glans dry up over time. And the worse part of it is the kid cannot consent

Mine still causes me physical pain and damage today. Too much skin was taken which make erections tight. I rip at times causing the pain and damage I mentioned. No surgery can fix this. I was not in need of MGM as I had no abnormalities or defects that needed surgery to correct. Because of a surgery I was forced to have that I did not need I suffer, people justify it by saying I was botched. If society would listen to men like myself maybe the practice would be no more.

Thing is, it is also a question of marketing.

I worked a bit with a friends charity for FGM, and was amazed how quickly the money flowed in. Learnt a bit about FGM, and note that only a small number of the procedures are fully invasive. Quite often it is labial trimming.
However, it is discussed as if they are all being sewn up and defiled.

Then with men, it's some harmless and completely risk or side effect free procedure. Spurious medical benefits are touted, but the ultimate point is merely aesthetics and/or to remove the comfortable skin to make masturbation easier.

As a circumcised man, I promise you there are effects to it. It reduces enjoyment of sex, and sex drive, most likely leading to more unusual sexual behaviour (as the feeling is so dampened). It has led to problems in almost all my sexual relationships because it functions so differently... you can't just grip and shake, it requires lubricant, because there is no loose skin.

We also see this fantasy of "only one type of circumcision", which is not really true. I have seen people where the foreskin is simply opened, rather than removed. The glans remains a protected internal organ, the skin remains loose, but it is easier to wash.

In my case, the skin wouldn't retract well when I was young (normal), and my neurotic mother became obsessed with its function until it became a medical issue... surprisingly common to have inflamation caused by overly "helpful" parents. I literally remember answering the doctors "Do you know why I'm here?" with a "You're going to cut my willy off!".... laughter, stupid kid etc etc.

I stand by that fucking answer.

There are medical side effects that are potentially concerning but for me the main issue is that it takes away the choice of what happens to a boys body. Babies cant consent and If it is not medically required that is not ok

There is no reason for a boy to be circumcised it only causes problems they are botched very often it prevents men from masturbating it makes the head of the penis less sensitive which can cause issues in bed it can make erections painful as scar tissue does not stretch. Also it is done when a child is defenseless and cannot prevent usually without numbing because "they won't remember it anyway" which leads to PTSD in the child right after birth. The foreskin is a very vital part of a man's genitalia it is not meant to be chopped off it is there to protect the penis. These are the reasons why circumcision needs to be banned it is unnecessary mutilation of an important body part unless the child will die from the foreskin somehow it needs to stay on.

It's not just skin it's the central pleasure system of the penis. It has more fine touch nerves than a clitoris and has the same mucosal tissue found in human lips.

After watching this, you will see that the difference between a penis that has been left intact and one that has had the prepuce removed goes beyond appearance. Once the foreskin is removed, the functions of the foreskin are lost (in proportion to the amount of foreskin that was removed--not all circumcisions are equally extreme in physical terms, but all of them forced onto someone else with no medical necessity are unethical).

FemaleDatingStrategy don’t even try to hide the fact that they’re a bunch of closed-minded assholes, they actively advocate for female superiority over equality.

As for Circumcision, many feminists claim that FGM is bad because it controls women’s sexuality (which it does) but they fail mention that for men, because when circumcision first started, it was to control men’s sexuality.

Masturbation was considered as a heinous act, which would cause a child to be born with deformities and health problems, but overtime it became about “preventing” illnesses that can be easily treated without chopping off a kids genitals.
