It's important to be skeptical of Patriarchy talk. It's a form Presentism.

All Men got the vote very shortly before all women... Many women opposed the idea of women voting.

I agree with the spirit of your post. I am for gender equality but the elephants in the room are Blank Slatism and gynocentrism.

Patriarchy didn't prevent women from voting. The eligibility for voting was with a condition that they had to join war. Women didn't want that.

Even today, men don't have right to vote without signing up for selective service.

Universal female suffrage was obtained very quickly after universal male suffrage in most countries. We are still awaiting equal military obligations. Patriarchy: doesn't exist.

Anecdotes can't prove cause & effect, but they prove events & results (what really happened). It's a denial to ignore anecdotes. The entire fields of history & science are based on observation. It's like ignoring news when news record what really happened.

Tackling the fact that culture has over-corrected to some degree, so needing to take stock of how patriarchy did prevent women from voting etc, but asking what we can do now to level the playing field so that the whining on both sides can end.
