I think that all athletes, regardless of sex and gender, should be tested and required to be inside specific biological thresholds.

This would be fair for everyone and guarantee that having, for example, different hormonal levels or an abnormal muscle mass would disqualify the person from the competition.

This whole topic is a nightmare driven by politics and emotion, more so than science. Since I have no skin in the game, I try to steer clear - it isn’t worth the headache.

One case that doesn’t get a lot of attention, which I find interesting, is the case of Quinn. A Canadian National soccer player. Came out as transman in 2020, yet was permitted to play on the women’s national team. The “pick and choose” seems contradictory…

Can you remember any so-called transphobes being worried about women pretending to be men to invade men and boy spaces like male bathrooms to molest the boys?

If the answer is "no" and they're only concerned about men pretending to be women to be allowed in girls' bathrooms... Their "transphobia" is clearly informed by garden-variety misandry.

I just don't understand it. I'm sure that late transitioning mtfs would have an advantage is some sports of they are larger framed. In mma not so much because of the strict weight limits. If a late transitioning mtf that was 6 foot 3 and large boned had to cut weight to only the inane 145 lbs limit Dana White set as the highest female limit and her opponent was a ciswoman that was average framed and 5 foot 6 can you image the dehydration and carb deficit the transwoman would be at to fight at that low weight. In these situations the ciswomen have the advantage. This is why Fallon Fox got so overkilled by Ashley because her body was electrolyte and water starved to meet weight. In swimming women float better than men on average but men have more muscle for stronger strokes so I'd say men, women, and trans bodies are all equal overall in water sports. As for other sports where cutting weight is not a thing late transition mtfs have an advantage. However, early transitioner mtf ie starting hrt before puberty will have zero advantage. Look at Kim Petras for an example she started hrt at 12 and got sexual reassignment at 16 she is framed like a small petite ciswoman so no advantage there. This is where it gets tricky if in most sports late transition mtfs have and advantage over ciswomen but early trans do not it would be unfair to discriminate against the late trans only while allowing the early ones to compete even though it's entirely logical it would be socially unacceptable. So even if there was a transwoman only division the late transitioners would overkill the early transitioners so it would still be unfair. All in all I suppose it is best for transwomen to not compete in most sports professionally sadly as their are so much levels of complexity to the whole thing.

at this point it isnt male vs female in sports its xx vs xy genes and thats how it should be regulated

If they were invading the women’s chess team no one would care. Women’s physical sports is a completely different thing. There IS a biological advantage. As is evident by 4th tier males joining the female team and breaking records.

There is a REASON sports are separated by sex.

Some of this is politics. It's part of the ongoing culture wars. How much of this is a major problem is a question mark. If it is truly damaging to women's sports, you would think the feminists would be taking this head on. Instead, the vast majority of feminists (other than the TERFs) are backing the transgenders. To be honest, in my opinion, this is their fight. It's not the responsibility of men to protect women sports, in my opinion. The feminists have the social support, money, and political backing to put a complete halt to this issue if they wanted to. If they want to stay silent while Lia Thomas wins all the swimming records, why should I fight that?

Why isn't this an issue in the other direction (FtM transgenders in male sports)? Because cis male athletes don't feel threatened and don't care. And it's also not a politically advantageous topic to discuss in that direction. Conservatives also act as though FtM trans don't even exist. They seem to think 99% of transgenders are MtF. So they aren't the smartest on this issue either.

Male->female trans women continue to maintain a strength advantage after testosterone suppression. This means testosterone levels are not the sole metric of strength differences (which is what the trans-advocates claim who want trans women in women's sports). In addition, larger people are stronger. Men going through puberty then transition will always have an advantage.

the muscular advantage enjoyed by transgender women is only minimally reduced when testosterone is suppressed

I think we need to first start with language.

"Phobia" is an irrational fear. Does anyone ligit have a fear of trans.

I don't believe so, except maybe the whack job religious people. I think most people don't care but are tired of a small minority dictating to everyone how we should act and that we should accept without question.
