Debatable. Feminists will say 2%, based on a speech by a judge to the NY Bar Association in the 70s, backed by no evidence whatsoever. Academic studies, depending on their methodology, have found upwards of 40%. Who can say for sure?

I think you misunderstand the situation. Feminists are painting the narrative that no one should EVER doubt any accusation by a woman. They've said this, explicitly. What do you think the slogan "Believe Women!!" means? MRAs are simply saying that isn't fair.

Why yes, yes you do. MRAs are striving to preserve it. There can be no justice if all accusers who happen to be female are uncritically believed.

I don't see how it can be considered rare when it is said that 98% of accusations don't result in conviction. Wouldn't that mean that up to 98% of accusations are false?

One of the lower claimed percentages is 5% (actually false, not just unprovable). That's 1 in 20. Pretty far from "extremely rare". Other studies put the percentage much higher, including data from the FBI crime stats.

When it comes to a legal case, the accused is always innocent until proven guilty. That's not something that could be compromised even if the false accusation rate was 1 in a 1000.

Typically, this figure comes from studies done on college students, an estimated 95 percent of whom do not report their assaults to police. Overall, an estimated 8 to 10 percent of women are thought to report their rapes to the police, which means that — at the very highest — we can infer that 90 percent of rapes go unreported, says Belknap. It's not that they believe Dr. Ford isn't telling the truth. It's just we can't be certain, even on a preponderance of evidence standard, that what she described happened as she described or whom she described it happened with.

I was raped by women when I was a young man (who were strangers to me), and yet if I picked them out of a lineup and said "yes officer, they're the ones that did it", any jury who listened to my testimony, with no additional evidence, can, should, and probably would let them walk. Because my memory 15 years on with no forensic evidence can't be relied upon. I recognize that. Everybody should.

The majority of accusations fall into neither of those misleadingly narrow categories.

This presumably after quoting the femstat about it being "only" ten percent. Ten percent is not at all rare. Rare would be less than 1%. But the true number is probably way over 100% because the vast majority of false accusations go unreported.

Well, we know the solution to this, don't we? Whenever an accusation's made, just arrest the man. All that's needed is her word; we don't need corroborating evidence. And it should be enough to put the man behind bars for decades. False allegations are so rare as to hardly be worth considering.

It's not like we have to worry about women lying for various reasons... or cases of mistaken identity, which can be even worse.
