I find the implication that feminists in general approve of false rape claims offensive. Yeah, there may be some feminists who are that sick, but those are fucked-up individuals who don't speak for the movement anymore than rape apologists speak for the Men's Rights movement.

My most tempered response is, "you're kidding, right?" In fact, your comment evinces a fundamental misunderstanding about feminism's attitude toward false rape claims. If you want to school yourself about what is occurring, instead of feigning righteous indignation, you should read this: http://falserapesociety.blogspot.com/p/lamb-to-slaughter-hofstra-false-rape.html The Hofstra false rape accusation is a chilling case study in the harsh and byzantine ways our purportedly enlightened society not only tolerates but tacitly encourages rape lies as the price of battling rape, without regard for the terrible harm to the men and boys falsely accused. The persons who dominate the public discourse about rape -- feminists who serve in what can aptly be called the sexual grievance industry -- have determined that the best way to encourage women to come forward is to open the floodgates and welcome even the false accusers. The fact that this strategy encourages more and more rape lies that sometimes resemble witch hunts, and that it diminishes the integrity of every actual rape victim, is not a concern to them.

Ironically, some of our biggest supporters in battling false accusers at FRS are -- who would have guessed? -- rape victims who, generally, have no feminist leanings. They know the real danger rape lies do their integrity, and they are more interested in battling rape than making an ideological point about men and patriarchy.

I am afraid that you are correct. The feminist disdain for presumptively innocent men and boys accused of rape, including men and boys who are victims of false rape claims, goes far beyond indifference and borders on pathology.

Prominent voices in the mainstream feminist rape movement oppose even charging women for making false rape claims. The result is that women know they can lie about rape with near impunity.

Prominent voices in the mainstream feminist rape movement oppose anonymity for presumptively innocent men who are merely accused of and not yet charged with rape.

Prominent voices in the mainstream feminist rape movement favored lowering the standard of proof to a mere preponderance of the evidence on American college campuses for presumptively innocent men charged with sex offenses.

Prominent voices in the mainstream feminist rape movement favor flipping the burden of proof to prove consent (so that sex would become a presumptive crime when a woman cries rape, and it would be the responsibility of the male to disprove it or face lengthy incarceration).

Prominent voices in the mainstream feminist rape movement favor changing the way consent can be manifested for purposes of proving rape. In their proposal, even consensual sex would be rape if the woman did not manifest it by uttering a verbal affirmation.

Prominent voices in the mainstream feminist rape movement routinely disparage the victimization of men and boys falsely accused of rape by referring to false rape claims as a "myth."

Prominent voices in the mainstream feminist rape movement preach to "always believe the woman" when, in fact, many presumptively innocent men and boys are falsely accused. If the woman is automatically believed, that means the man or boy accused MUST be a rapist.

Prominent voices in the mainstream feminist rape movement insist that rape accusers be referred to as "victims" in criminal statutes, just a manifestation of the "always believe the woman" mindset.

You assume that just because the feminist movement doesn't make protecting victims of false rape accusations their primary goal that they endorse false rape accusations? In case you weren't aware, different movements have different focuses. You post makes about as much sense as the following:

"No. Animal rights advocates heart pedophilia. They have a long history of doing so.

There is a very easy way for you to prove me wrong: 1. Show examples of activism where animal rights groups decry pedophilia, and call for more stringent punishment. 2. Show examples of activism where animal rights groups move to require children cannot be legally tortured. (The same protection they believe animals should get.)"

Your example is invalid, because animal rights advocates do not voice support for paedophilia. Feminists voice support for false rape accusations.

If you go to the False Rape Society website, you will find NUMEROUS examples of feminist groups saying one or more of the following: 1. Women Don't Lie About Rape. 2. False Rape Accusations are a valid tool in a "male-dominated" society. 3. False Rape Accusers should never be held responsible because the "patriarchy" is actually to blame for what they did.

You also have to take into account the persistent feminist phenomenon of watering down the definition of rape to pretty much include any consensual sexual act between a man and a woman. To many feminist groups, a woman who consents to sex but then regrets it a week later was raped. This warped male-bashing creates an environment where women feel like they can say anything they please without repercussion. And unfortunately they're pretty much correct.

Well, that's seriously messed up.

In any case, I'm not denying that there are some feminists out there who are fucked in the head. But you could use that same sort of logic to argue that Men's Rights advocates are "rape apologists" merely because some members of the movement are immoral. What I'm saying is that we shouldn't lump everyone who falls into a movement that's based in equality (as is Feminism and Men's Rights) into stereotypes based on the worst members of the group. I'm both a feminist and a believer in men's rights and, no, I'm not a man-hating endorser of false rape accusations, nor am I a woman-hating rape apologist.

It's a shame that some idiots who claim to be feminists but are actually just sexist bitches make the rest of us look bad. I'd like to see less of an Us vs. Them mentality on both sides of the gender line, and more working together for good causes like protecting people from rape and false rape accusations.
