Feel free to voice your opinions, if they don't like them and try to shut you down, they are not good friends. Feel free to drop them.

Good friends accept each other despite differences. Of course not everyone thinks the same, and that is one of the great (and sometimes horrible) things about humanity. You don't have to agree on everything to be a friend, just respect their right to their beliefs. Your friends should return that courtesy.

If they do not respect your right to your beliefs, move on. It is likely they are not the friends you thought they were, or not kind of friends you should have in my opinion. Ensure it is not you that is the one not accepting of other's beliefs, however.

If they’re open to criticism of feminism, then I imagine they’re fine with you being an MRA.

There are reasonable feminists out there. Hopefully your friends are among them. If they become hostile to you, simply because you identify as an MRA, they’re not worth keeping as friends.

Personally, I identify as an egalitarian. I want equal rights and treatment for women and men. So I support both women's rights and men's rights.

I don't call myself an MRA, and I'm not much of an activist anyway. I do try to raise awareness whenever the subject comes up.

Maybe a similar approach will work in your friend group?

Just to counter all the positive messages here, I lost my boyfriend of 1 year after he "found out" I was an MRA. Typical arguments ensued, he claimed I was a misogynist, wouldn't really listen to reason, etc. People may tell me I'm better off without him, but that doesn't make it any easier. It's a contentious topic right now, especially with feminism painting themselves as at-odds with mens rights.

What i'm saying is, be prepared to lose some friends, and think hard about if it's worth it. It may be better to maintain your friendships, and simply make gentle corrections if you hear overtly misandristic things being said by them.

If they're genuinely open people they shouldn't have a problem with you. Diversity of opinion is important and a good way for both them and you to help solidify your beliefs or become more open to new ones.

Don't label your self so carelessly. Or more so, you don't have to label yourself as either party nor egalitarian. One of the issues of subscribing yourself to a group is that your identity becomes anchored to their ideas to some degree or more. This removes your ability to be skeptical because your too close to the tree to see the forest.

I have with withdrawn a bit from most social group dynamics to better observe characteristics. For example, there are groups within groups and we all play "games". By games, I mean, operations of behavior, under rules and guidelines. Some of these "micro groups", use the rules within groups to play a different game. Some of the games opportunistic for power grabbing, domination of others(including within the group as a whole), or often for unwarranted vindictive purposes.

Don't be too afraid of voicing your opinion on specific issues, but if I were you I'd be careful about how much you label yourself an MRA, and how much you label them Feminists. Don't let it turn into an "us vs them" issue, both from your angle and from theirs.

Voice your specific opinions on specific issues as they come up in conversation, but keep it about the specific issues. If you turn it into an MRA vs Feminism thing then the specifics get blurred, and it turns into a tribal debate.

Speak your opinion. If they justify your fear of voicing it, they aren't your friend.
