Thank you for proving my point, you think there is a threat even when there is none, that's not "sniffing" out anything, here's an example of sniffing something out, I met this one girl one Tinder, she seemed nice and she wanted to meet up, so we met up at my place and we started talking and having a really good conversation, then she brings up her brother and complaining that he's too loud with his guitar all the time, fair enough I thought, we keep talking and she brings up the fact her brother is a music teacher, and I'm like ok so his guitar playing isn't completely unreasonable, maybe she's just exaggerating how often he's playing, cuz we all exaggerate sometimes and that's all I thought it was, then she says that when she talked to her parents about it they asked him to move his guitar stuff to the garage which he did and is reasonable to ask, but then she starts complaining that her family never listens to her and that her brothers guitar playing is so annoying, that's when shit turns south because now I've realized what type of person she is, she's given me enough info that I'm able to sniff out what type of person she is, and she's was the type of person that would refuse to compromise if it wasn't exactly the way she wanted, so I sent her on her way, that's what sniffing something out is, not being constantly paranoid of every man you come across

I'm saying it perfectly within someone's right if they take certain precautions to feel safe around people, especially if they have trauma. That said, I don't advocate for discriminating against people just because of their gender. Making sure you're not alone in a room with a man who you don't know is a precaution, not discrimination.

Acting in a way to address your irrational fears is one thing. Projecting your irrational fears onto others to label them a danger is another.

You feel fear and believe you must therefore be in danger, then you demand that others address the danger that doesn't exist. Something I put to people who demand their subjective fear level be addressed by others is this: men are statistically in more danger than women of suffering nearly all violent crime. Yet women are more afraid of being victimized. Should men be more afraid or should women be less afraid?

Yes, to a certain extent that's how everyone approaches every interaction. Normal, mentally healthy people approach them with appropriate levels of caution that automatically account for the fact that the fear is internal to themselves and not necessarily a result of some "danger identity" of the person they're interacting with. Racists, sexists, trauma victims, dogs, and people with anxiety disorders approach them with irrational biases that do damage to themselves, the person they are interacting with, and to society that far exceeds the benefit of any real protection they might gain.

Your level of fear is not necessarily correlated with the level of danger you are in. When you pretend it is you can make a threat out of anyone or anything you are irrationally afraid of. Women, Mormons, Indian people, heights, airplanes, etc. Personally, I'm rooting against honeybees because I got stung as a child. Go pesticides! When you ask others to police this false threat you create mass hysteria. When you get enough people together who have the same irrational fear, the same desire to project it outward, and the same belief that their personal issues should be addressed by public policy you get a regressive social movement.

Yes, absolutely. However, we are rational, thinking beings. We can look at the many trucks on the road and the number of times cars and trucks interact and realize the chances of having an accident are very small. We can drive according to the traffic laws, knowing they are there to make us safer. We can take extra precautions, such as staying out of blind spots. Even if someone experiences trauma at the hands of another, it is not rational to conclude that all people of that type are dangerous. First of all - we are all members of several different groups. Gender, race, family, nationality, etc. How do you pick which group to fear? (the politics you listen to tell you who to fear) Secondly, a bit of casual observation will tell you that the other members of your feared group had nothing to do with the original trauma and don't deserve to be blamed or feared. The fact is that it is socially acceptable for only one group to be blamed and feared and that is men. Feminists are behind this demonization and have been successful implanting it into our culture.

Personal story time! One of my exes rationalized that because my culture was matrilineal, that a majority of the men were wiped out at one particular point in time. He did not want to acknowledge that the major decision making was up to the women because the women were valuable and stayed close to home and less likely to be killed or injured. That parentage is only certain through the females, and that's how we kept track of our genealogy. It must have been because we were short on penises, right?

In his mind, how could a society run by women even be a thing? so it must have come about from a lack of rational thinking men, right? that's the kind of idiocy that feminism was aimed at, at one point. But because of that attitude that women are meant subservient and have one role in life (sex and child rearing) sticks so hard, it takes some extremes to show the really hard headed that being in that role isn't pleasant. So instead of blaming women for saying they feel uncomfortable having to change their behavior based on the bad actions of one man, try to understand where they are coming from? They're not saying all men will sexually assault all women, they're saying their trauma has taught them to alter their lifestyle in a way that isn't convenient and has made them cautious in ways they never wanted to be.

let me ask you something: when was the first time an adult woman made sexual advances toward you? When was the last time you felt like a woman was staring at you like she wanted to violate your physical boundaries? When was the last time somebody tried to explain something to you that you already knew, but they still insisted you knew nothing on the topic?

It is irrelevant because we are not discussing your ex's assumptions about women or society in general. We're not discussing the reasons behind feminism's rise in our society. We are discussing a specific scenario: that of someone looking at someone else and making assumptions and judgements on that person based on the group they are categorized into. That is bigotry and it doesn't matter if the bigot thinks they have really, really good justifications for it. (Hot tip - they all think they do). It doesn't matter if that justification is "I saw other members of that race robbing a convenience store" or "My gender studies prof told me that those people had it good 200 years ago". What is missing, every time, is how that supposed justification is related to the current subject and in the absence of any actual evidence linking the two, the ethical and enlightened thing to do is to assume the link isn't there.

Um, how are you figuring out intent based on a look? Don't you think that there is lots of room for mistaken interpretation here? And really - your complaint is "he's looking at me?" Sounds like something from a 5-year-old

It's called conversation and is resolved by stating relevant facts, coming to conclusions based on those facts and sometimes making extrapolations. This is a human experience, not a female experience. The problem is that feminism has claimed that experience as their own.
