Stoicism
Coming from someone who haven't lived in Sweden for a bit but for decades, exactly how do you feel Sweden is any different in this regard?
Women in Sweden are just as 'womanly' as women in USA. Stoicism amongst women in Sweden is at the same level as it is anywhere else.
Swedish women arent some hardened brickfacades that dont display emotion etc, they act just like women do elsewhere, and I say that as someone who have lived and worked (or studied) in 8 different countries.

yeah this has nothing to do with stoicism, this is to do with a different societal way of forming connections.
in sweden you generally make your friends during school/uni or via hobbies/playing sports if thats your thing. most swedes however make their friends during education. this is your group of friends.
to meet new friends after this you usually meet them via friends, so everyone tend to have more than 1 group of friends and then you can introduce one to another etc.
making friends as an adult in sweden without an already established group of friends is hard. swedes do not generally meet colleagues outside of work, we consider a professional life to be entirely separate from private life. swedes also generally do not make new friends at clubs, pubs, bars, etc.
that "coldness or indifference" is just swedes respecting your privacy and not really looking to engage with people they dont know unless something specific calls for it, like asking directions or whatever.
it has nothing to do with stoicism, its just that sweden makes it exceptionally hard for people to make new friends when out of education unless they already have friends whom can introduce them to their other friends.
