Men play 40% longer matches (5 sets to 3). That means the men's champion will have to play a minimum of 21 sets to win his prize money vs. a minimum of only 14 sets for women.

  • Woman's champion earns £142,857 per set.
  • Men's champion earns £95,238 per set.

The longer play also means more advertising revenue, significantly more food and beverage sales, previously they charged £3,250 for the men's final vs. £965 for a women's final ticket.

Let's not forget the reason anyone is watching.... just like soccer, basketball, golf... the quality of play in terms of speed, strength and ability is night and day different. Not to mention that the men's tour subsidizes the women's tour. See the LPGA or WNBA as examples.

How is this "equality"? Anyone?
