The kid was a breech delivery, and after delivering the body and shoulders the cervix clamped down around the baby's neck.

It's a literal split second decision between attempting to deliver the head through the vagina, using forceps to provide traction on the body, or an emergency caesarean. The doctor in question tried to deliver the first way but unfortunately the forces involved led to the baby being decapitated. The doctor said she didn't think there was time to get an emergency section going - consider that at that second the baby is dangling by the neck half out of its mother being asphyxiated.

From what I recall the mother presented in late labour with undetected breech presentation. Usually this would be detected much earlier in pregnancy and dealt with before delivery, or with an elective C-section.

I think the first doctor had an almost impossible situation to deal with, where a dead baby was a likely outcome.

The second case in the OP isn't the guy being struck off. It's him saying to his manager as a DWP assessor that if someone comes in to be assessed by him, and they ask to be called a woman, he's going to call them a man if he thinks they look like they used to be a man. Basically giving his employer a heads up that he'll go out of his way to "exercise his free speech" to offend their clients. Hardly surprising they dropped him like a hot potato.

Although this is a good post, the title does not say enough about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested. It also makes searching impossible.

If everyone did this, the subreddit would become unusable.

When making a title, it's best to assume the reader doesn't know what you're talking about - but don't go overboard with every detail. Then check if there are any words you can cut out without losing any important information.

Dr. Mackerath was working in a government position where he was supposed to assess disability claims (not in the medical field).

He was repeatedly told that any information on reports or in contact with clients needs to be addressed in the way the patient wants to be addressed, which regardless of your view on trans-genderism is a reasonable policy for how a government claims assessor addresses a client.

He was not fired for his beliefs, but refusing to abide by department policy despite numerous attempts of the department to "train" and work with him.

Honestly, he shoulda been fired, you are comparing someone working in the medical field to someone not. This is a bs comparison.

I don't have an oppinion on the laxman thing either way as i'm not educated enough on our medical standards.

The baby was decapitated because it was in a breech position with a cord wrapped around its neck. Should have had a C-section, but the dr did a natural birth. The dr performed the birth "correctly", the failure was in the lack of identifying that a c-section needed to be done.

I feel like the left hand story title is intentionally misleading. Baby was probably coming out the wrong way + some other complications, umbilical cord round the neck, particularly fragile to begin with, etc.

Female doctors still get fired for mal practice you know, why pick this particular one to spare?

Yeah the doctor on the left made a call I'd hate to have to make and the baby died. It was breech birth of a premature baby and she had to choose between attempted delivery and emergency c-section. She chose to try and deliver and the vaginal muscle walls clamped around the poor kid's head and he was decapitated. I hope I never have to make a decision like that. A decision like that isn't easy and she would not have made it lightly. Lay off of her.

The doctor on the right was going out of his way to disrespect and discriminate against trans patients by using pronouns for their birth sex as opposed to the gender on file, for no good reason. He cites his personal beliefs as why. This is not a good reason.

Bottom line:

She made a tough call that doctors have to make every day and it resulted in an unfortunate death. Tribunal ruled no misconduct. Nothing to say it's because she's a woman that she was acquitted. Nothing to say a man would have ended up with a different verdict.

He was going out of his way to make patients feel uncomfortable and discriminate against them for no reason other than personal beliefs, which is not acceptable. He was fired, as he was breaching equality criteria. Nothing to say that he was fired because he was a man or that he'd have been treated differently if this was a woman.

TL;DR: If you post shit like this, where there's no relation between the stories or discrimination against men because of their sex, don't be surprised when other people don't take us seriously when we do call people out on real discrimination against men, because they're men. Don't cry wolf.
