Actually, once you know a bit about India's current, shitty gynocentric family law system; this is not as bad and is done to protect men.

Women already hold more power than you can possibly know. Sections of the constitution of India itself are implicitly discriminatory against men.

If marital rape was made illegal in India, at least a million false cases every year would be filed. India is already suffering under a huge case backlog due to false cases (rape, dowry, domestic violence etc) filed by women/relatives/attorneys due to greed.

Additionally, this case from MP is important in that it recognises oral and anal sex as not being unnatural. This law was often misused by disgruntled wives earlier.

There's usually another crime that can be charged instead of rape. Rape carries the death penalty in India.

Indeed, rape used to carry the death penalty in most countries. I don't see them pushing for progress about this:

You hit the nail on the head even though I am sure you didn't intend to. The vast majority of men who are raped are by other men. Under the IPC a man who rapes another man could be sentenced under S. 377 but the new code there is no 377 and as such the rape of men is completely legal.

Maybe instead trying to score points against women try to be outraged over the very real threat that is posed to men?

Craziest party about this ruling that nobody's mentioning; you can't rape a woman in her urethra (without cutting her into pieces I guess). Ruling said a penis in "mouth, urethra, or anus". Translation error? Or has the judge making this ruling never seen lady parts?

I don’t think a man lies about rape. I know 5 women in my life that have lied and then come out and admitted or were caught out lying about rape. Make that 7 girls now if you count the two step daughters of my friend. That is still going on but the police have stopped investigating. My poor friend and the mother of those kids. The school should be ashamed. Unfortunately this does happen all the time and domestic violence claims by women for control of family and assets. It’s not recognised in the west but I guess India has worked that one out. I think unfortunately thought all cases need to be taken seriously whatever the cost and punishment for lies instead of a slap on the wrist.

The thing is that proving it will always be dubious. And it's false to say that it's "legal". Men get punished under it under section 498a. To further add to it, men are also charged under that section for adultery and cheating as it is considered "Mental abuse" of the wife by courts. But these same courts have the audacity to say how women are just expressing "bodily autonomy" when they cheat and even force men to pay alimony and maintenance to them.

Same for rape of men. If it's a man-on-man rape, it's considered "unnatural sex" and charged as such. Even if it's not direct male rape under tha laws, the person still does get some justice. But if it's a woman forcing herself on that man, no law is there to protect him. Heck, she could file a rape case on him and he would be in jail for years on end
