People on Reddit constantly make me disgusted with humanity, this included. Of course the majority of people making fun of this guy are also men, because that is part of the societal conditioning that we have in this culture. That in order for men to be valid and accepted they have to compete with each other in every single instance of every single aspect of life. I would venture to say that the majority of the men making fun of this guy are not doing it because they're funny but because they thought to themselves I wouldn't do that in that situation and thus a way to put down someone else to elevate themselves. It's always the competition in a person's mind that can drive them to do things good and bad. We always have competed against each other since the time we could understand and we open our eyes. It takes a person who is self aware to realize, not everything has to be a competition and that it's not a weakness to have empathy for your fellow man.

I feel bad for this guy, that he had an honest reaction to somebody who could potentially have killed him and that is entertaining and he mocked by others. People are disgusting.

We should show sympathy to and empathize with anyone who's been a victim in situations like this, regardless of gender. I clearly remember there was a CCTV video posted on YouTube of a lady who was getting robbed in her own shop. She successfully fought off the robber but pissed in her pants which was clearly visible in the video. To make matters worse she was wearing a white-colored pair of trousers. There was quite a lot of people in the comment section mocking and making fun of her, which was not nice.

I’ve been robbed at knifepoint 3 times and let me tell you it’s fucking horrifying. Every time for months after I replayed each scenario thinking what I could have done differently and imagining a Bruce Lee sort of thing. The reality is there’s nothing you can do against a knife attack except comply or run. I hope this guy is doing okay now.
