No.

It's from Australia and it is a person who took the statistics of all male suicide and improperly added the reason "child access" to it. In reality we can't know the reason for the vast majority of the suicides, even if the men were having child access issues at the time.

While I would like to support getting the awareness out there, things like this are exactly as bad as the 1 in 5 statistic.

In the US, in the world or in Lichtenstein? Over a how long period of time is this average calculated? What's the standard deviation?

Any man committing suicide for this is a tragedy, but publishing this kind of unsupported statistics doesn't do any favors to our cause.

Idk if it’s true, but I do know that I’ve battled some of the deepest depression of my life as my ex tries to push me out of the picture of our unborn son. The only thing that keeps me above water most days is knowing that I have to set an example for him and let this be another chapter on how we as men can overcome any obstacle, no matter how difficult.

Never thought I could love anything as much as him in my life, but I’m sure looking forward to that growing feeling every day.

I've gone looking for reseach into this issue and had no luck. Imagine that we just haven't tried even figuring it out.

I believe there are 2 times as many men dying of suicide due to access issues than there are women being killed in dv.

I asked a researcher I know to pursue this question just last week, with him being a specialist in the area of men and suicide. He said he can't for now but I expect to nag him about it next time I see him.

Whats the saying? “1 is too many” thats what women would use as a reasoning for anything for womens rights.

Might not be scientifically proven like he says but its still present.

Seems implausibly high for Australia (about six men a day commit suicide there). Seems quite plausible for the USA. Of course who can say why someone decides to kill themselves?

I think it's meant to be Australia. It's an estimate that's little better than a guess. Though it's telling that despite all the criticism of the stat being leveled at the fact that the exact number is a guess no one has conducted a study to find out the real answer. Those in power would prefer that the populace stays ignorant of the scale of the problem.

Sadly true but it's just listed as suicide. Robin Williams didn't just kill himself his ex wife was trying to bleed him for more money even though he hadn't been in a movie in how long? Residuals were getting less and less ..... If you're going to kill yourself kill the bitch first I say then it will start to get attention
