Fellow Quebecer here. I went to a public Catholic school and experienced pretty much the same thing. I got in fights every day because I was the only person in my grade who wore glasses (and we were too poor to afford children's sizes, so they looked rediculous).

Both boys and girls would try to break my glasses (one year I went through 4 pairs) and I distinctly remember only the boys ever getting ANY flak for it. In fact, I remember arguing with a teacher about how this one girl was repeatedly stealing things from my desk and trying to break my glasses and getting the response "[The girl] is a good, proper, well behaved girl. And girls don't do that kind of thing."

Welcome, and I'm sure your experience is shared by many. It was the same for me as well. I can't remember a single male teacher until 5th grade. That was when we started band, and the high school conductor started band for 5th and 6th. My sixth grade science teacher was the first actual male teacher I had in a classroom.

I'm 29 and in Canada as well, my experience was pretty similar...mostly female teachers and girls could do no wrong unless it was something very disruptive.

I'm a senior in high school in the US. All through elementary and middle school (Kindergarten through eighth grade), I had female teachers. Not a single teacher (save substitutes) was male. Not a one. Myself and my Y-chromosome carrying peers ran into this problem a lot, in some rather extreme cases, I might add.

I recall, in fifth grade, one of my friends shot a spitball at the whiteboard, he got an office referral (I do believe that to be an appropriate punishment, though). A few weeks later, a tomboyish girl in the class did the same, she got a 150-word writing assignment (1 step above a warning).

The girls in my class would often get a larger allocation of snack foods; petty, but to a hungry fifth-grader, that is analogous high treason. She would also grade boys more harshly and seldom give them the benefit of the doubt. The girls, however, could practically get away with murder.

The same thing, to lesser degrees, happened almost every year. I recall, though, in first and third grade, we had more neutral teachers.

When sixth grade rolled around, we had to actually start moving between classes. So instead of having one bitch angry at you for something stupid, you had seven.

Exact same experience in Louisiana, with some added racial issues that I don't think I'll discuss.

The problem was especially prevalent with my gym teachers. Oh god, female gym teachers were fucking awful. Girls doing absolutely jack shit the entire class, cell phones - which were banned and would be confiscated from male students - in plain sight. Their grades were, arbitrarily, based off of whether or not they changed into their gym outfits, whereas ours were based on performance. Which wouldn't be half as bad if the teacher actually recorded whether or not they even did that.

My junior year onward I had a male teacher for weight lifting. The first year, he actually gave a shit and enforced the rules. And then, under pressure from students because of their previous teachers' methods, he started pretending not to notice. Just let all these useless deadbeats in the class sit on exercise equipment that others wanted to use and otherwise obstructed people who were, you know, actually doing things. For a purpose. Like myself. God fucking help you if you wanted to use the leg press.

So every girl I knew counted on PE for a free A on their report cards. It was a similar phenomenon elsewhere, as well. My female computer science teacher actually had me "help debug" (read: "write") one girl's code, thereby granting her another free A, as all of that class' grades were based off of projects and the odd, piss-easy quiz, half of which could be failed and an A still achieved.

So yeah. I know that feel, bro.

ya man it's really not a big deal, but I know know how aggravating it is when someone oppresses you and is too stupid to even realize it. Women often have nice intentions but their emotions are too strong imo and they will righteously oppress you because they really believe in themselves. That's why we gotta start being more honest with women in real life and not just in this sub reddit.

I'm in the US and my little brother goes through the same thing in elementary(Grades 1-5) school. It really is stupid.
