Apparantley EU doesn't recognize discrepancies in sentencing between the sexes as discrimination as it has chosen to not include it under EU equality laws. Very deliberately for sure. So they won't ever adress the issue and by not including it under th Equality law, they want to keep men from challenging this praxis.

EU has discriminated against men since before, so no surprise. Just make sure to remember and to never forget the day EU wants something from you, like join their army and fight for the equality, freedom (such as bodily integrity) that the EU doesn't recognize as being yours. Based on sex. In a liberal progressive time era.

If in the USA the corrections system were about actual rehabilitation and not just about punishment I would say that nuance could be considered as to prevent recidivism. However it’s not so I think it should be same crime same time. However, I don’t believe that young children should be without their parents and there are measurable consequences for that. I believe that there should be programs for children to spend significant time in facilities that don’t look like American prisons. Canada and much of Europe do this.

I think that could become difficult to be honest. We would still have biases in women committing crimes and men committing crimes. At that point, what we could call an equal crime could not be labelled as such. If a woman with all her might attacks someone I still believe that assault will be seen as less so than a man giving it his all. They probably end up with different results due to strength but they both had the same level of aggression. And in that case the worst assault a man commit can never be committed by a woman. On this it depends on how you judge a crime, is it the intention or outcome and if it is the intention, how can that ever be proven. Are we looking for true equality or can we still accept disparities in genders where a woman can't damage as much as a man can in average during assaults?

Additionally mental issues are seen as something that can give a woman sympathy for her crime as we have seen many times through infanticides.

So the real question is can we stop bias in court affairs for women and the way we perceive the severity of her crimes before we serve sentences.
