has anyone ever seen a "manspreader" block seats? i have seen men sit comfortably when there is an empty seat next to them but when someone wants the seat next to them they make space. i find it hard to believe the people complaining about manspreading are actually having issues.

On the DC Metro I saw a dude (clearly over 6 1/2 feet tall) that spread his legs wide enough to legitimately clip into the next seat's space.
Then again, the dude was a tall guy with long legs, and there were plenty of seats available. Are we supposed to tall-shame people now?

I have the same problem on busses. There are plenty seats available, so it's not a problem.

For me too, I man spread because I cant fit my legs properly otherwise, but I always make room if someone wants to sit next to me because space is running out in the rest of the place. I should mention I also have to awkwardly place myself because my back is wider than one seat space and it gets really uncomfortable :( which is the main reason why I usually dont like too much having someone sit next to me, but that doesnt mean I deny them their right to.

Not take up more than one seat, but it is more typical that someone could start infringing on the space of the person next to them. Most often people (of multiple genders) sitting like this will straighten up/move their bag when the adjacent seat becomes occupied (thus resolving any potential issue) but it does happen occasionally that their neighbor will be forced to minimize the space their body/things take up and be cramped.

This seems to happen more because the person is fat than purposefully spreading.
But when a fat person sits next to me I don't move. I hold my territory. I am entitled to my space, they chose to be fat so they get to enjoy my bony elbow shoving their fat

If it was really about space and public consideration....then it would be about exactly that. Space and public consideration.
As in: -Don't put your bags all around you and take up space. Plan appropriately. Your bag of broccoli and zuchinni is not grounds for a lost seat
-Do not place your purse/backpack/briefcase in an adjacent seat. Place beneath yours or on your lap.
-Do not engage in activities that either restrict the general movement of others or, Alternatively, offends conventional sensibilities: ie, do not prepare your salad on a cutting board, nor should you groom your dog as he/she sits in the adjacent seat.
Etc.

Remember, these are people who claim to be progressive yet deny any progress has been made in the past century towards equal rights.

yeah, the artist kinda messed up on that... kinda like that "old" woman trying to shame two teenage girls when there was clearly an empty seat (she claimed she was old but was only fifty something so people were calling her out for the empty seat and claiming to be old).

Don't forget the "woman spreading" the girl in white is doing on the left. Very common to see a woman place every bag she is carrying on the seat next to her so no filthy white male can sit next to her.

they're extremely valuable animals that basically make food for free without needing to kill them, so, that, probably. in places where you can't just go to the store to get eggs, it's more common to see people transporting them like any other resource.

Depicting feminists as fat and ugly isn't doing the MRM any favors. It's just fueling the existing hatred of our cause.
We need to be able to work peacefully with other groups and ignore those who aren't so peaceful.
Attack the enemy, not just anybody who vaguely resembles the enemy, that's where Black Lives Matter went wrong, they didn't focus on racist people and instead went on to alienate a lot of people who otherwise would have given their full support.
Don't make the same mistakes as those who are against you. They're taking time away from their cause to attack you and if you retaliate then nobody helps anybody because it all turns into a useless annoying screaming match as both parties act like children.

Up until 10th grade I would only sit with my legs at an obtuse angle. I didnt have the flexibility to sit with them any closer. It was a strain!
