Great list! What about:

The War Against Boys http://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-War-Against-Boys/Christina-Hoff-Sommers/9781501125423

And

The Myth of Male Power http://www.warrenfarrell.org

On my reading list! I've read parts of The Myth of Male Power before and it's a treasure trove of insightful quotes.

The Privileged Sex by Martin van Creveld. Structured after The Second Sex, this is especially important because it was written by a respected historian. Hundreds or thousands of references/sources.

Men on Strike by Helen Smith.

Not directly related to men's issues or rights in particular but is a great inspirational book for men in my opinion.

It's very strongly indirectly related. It promotes everything positive masculinity should be.

Also one of the huge "red pill" type books from the 70s:

"Self-Made Man" by Norah Vincent is an interesting read (I wish she had done more though).

"The Boy Crisis" by Warren Farrell. It goes very heavily into the parenting of males.

"No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Robert Glover really changed my life. A fantastic read.

'The Fraud of Feminism' by Ernest Belfort Bax. The classic from 1913.

Do you think it's relevant to the feminism of today, 100 years later? Feminism (theory, issues, rhetoric, etc.) has changed a lot in 100 years. If you do think it's still applicable, I'll take a look.

[–]tetsugakusei 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's remarkable. It's clearly written and brilliantly argued, but most importantly, it has an uncanniness as so much of what he says has not changed at all.

Benatar's book is pure damage control.
