In addition to what has already been said, we can see the same problems starting up in developing nations that are on the rise. If we get this stuff sorted out, they'll have a better example to follow.

Example: India's rape situation. It's a huge problem and it needs to be dealt with, but the actions being taken seriously harm men while doing little to stop the actual problem.

I have my own problems with this sub at times, but your complaint is one of hubris. None of us are responsible for everything that happens everywhere, that's nothing but a delusion of grandeur. Is it nice to help other when we can, yes, but we are first responsible for ourselves. Besides, helping others and dictating to others are very different things, and again the dividing line is usually one of megomaniacal self righteousness, or maybe as vanity disguised as guilt and sympathy.

There once was a guy named Yeshua who said something about taking the beam out of your eye before taking the mote out of anothers, and I think that applies here. Also, if you do want to learn about the rest of the world, then it probably is best to learn that there is too much information for us to ever be too sure of our righteousness, and a little doubt is healthy. Its not like the dancing boys of Afghanistan fit your theory, and Im sure other counter-examples abound... if you look. Never forget the media is usually politicized, or at least uses popular narratives as part of a business strategy.

Look at the situation in the greater Middle East. Its negatively affecting everybody there, women included. Our involvement over the last century hasn't done much good, has it? Maybe we shouldn't meddle in other cultures, assuming that our good intentions will lead to good results. There is a certain brand of foolishness going around where people forget about efficacy, and the possibility of unintended consequence. Lets get our own house and order, let people visit, and if they want, build a house like ours of their own.

Who gives a shit. I'm not fighting for 3rd world countries. They have plenty of orgs fighting for them. Absolutely nobody outside of the MRM is fighting for mens' rights anywhere.

So take your concern trolling and go fight whatever fight you like. It's irrelevant to the MRM.

Yeah, you have missed the point of the sub. Men have always been the disposable gender, no matter which country you choose. Men have always been the majority victims of suicide, mental illness, drug addiction, etc., and received the least amount of attention and aid for those problems.

Feminists in the developed nations have simply added these problems with their misandry.

Hey, just a suggestion, take it or leave it, but I really don't think this person is deserving of downvotes. For one, they are opening their position up for discussion and disagreement. Two, their position has been and will be used again to dismiss men's issues, and having practice dealing with it will only help. Three, some are practicing dealing with that position already, and down voting a post isn't just down voting the poster, its essentially down voting all the replies. Four, going with this line of thought, downvotes really should be spared for the truly egregious out out of place. Promoting appreciation can be done with up votes alone, and down vote heavy subs are just using a deniable and popular form of de facto censorship.

The reason is in these developed countries ,where most of us reside, is we are being mistreated. Where as feminists who wish for "equality" never go where they are truly needed like china or the Middle East. We are fighting battles on our home turf where we are being attacked. If feminism went abroad to correct far greater inequalities like said places then we could get an equilibrium established here and help them there.

Men's Rights is concerned with remaining gender roles, specifically the ones imposed upon men. I imagine the reason the focus of this subreddit on western, developed nations, is that is where the MRAs come from.

Do men have it tough in non-western developed countries, in underdeveloped countries? Certainly, articles in the news bear that out each day. In many of these countries the traditional gender roles are a long way from being dismantled for men and women. Those countries though have more immediate problems such as wars, oppressive regimes and famine. Social issues generally take a back seat to survival.
